I got this call twice now. I pressed 9 and I was told I won a cruise but some idiot named John. I was asked a few questions, finally I told him I was not interested and asked to have my name removed. He said he could not do that. I told him I demanded it removed he got smart and said I was in no position to demand anything. Then the jerk he was he commented that if I quack like a duck he would. Sometime need to be done. I looked up the company and all the information I get is name in unavailabe and it is a cell... the cell provider is Omnipoint Communications Inc.

I think it is from etour & travel. It is a time share deal. We went on one 2 years ago........made our trip to Florida very affordable, & you had to go to a time share presentation where they try to get you on high pressure sales. The places we got to stay were nice & you got tickets to either Disneyland or Universal studios.

Got the same number on my call display and decided to Google it thus got to this website and several more.

I don't know why you people would hit the #9 key when they ask you to.  Would you also jump off a bridge?  Have you not heard of that (dial 9) scam before?  It's been around for years.  Go ahead and Google it as well.  There are mixed reviews about it actually working but allegedly if you hit 9 you allow the other party to access an outside line where they can make long distance calls to your line.  This of course is not going to work on a normal residential line that does not require dialing 9 to reach an outside line.  Regardless, use some common sense!!

What do you mean you " I think it is from etour & travel" ?  What the heck does that mean?  Did you confirm this is who they are?  Obviously not if you are posting like this.  Either you know or you don't.  Why bother to post something you know is not factual.

I stumble upon this website.   I got the call at 11:15 a.m.  They are now calling Sudbury, Ontario.  Our number is unlisted and they are persistent.  They ought to pass a law to ban these jerks.  Please always remember.. if you didn't enter a contest they you didn't win.  When will people stop thinking they can get something for free... There is no such thing.  Everything comes with a price.

I never bothered to pick up.  Call display showed a number I didn't recognize, so I never pick those up.  So it's a scam.  What a joke.

St John's, Newfoundland.  Phone rang at 4pm with an automated message claiming I had won a free vacation and to press 9.  I just kept the phone to my ear for a few minutes to drive up their phone bill until they disconnected.

I just received a call this afternoon.  There was no ID displayed as I was using the line for internet access (I live in the sticks!).  So, they immediately received my voice mail and the message left was a quick hang up.  I suspect they'll keep trying until they reach me.

They're in Calgary now. They have tried twice to contact me, but I didn't recognize the number and just let it go into voice mail, which they hung up on.

I just googled it, and came up with this site, explaining the scam.  Thanks all for posting.  The next time, I must just use a whistle to keep them from hassling me.

I just got the call from these guys too. It was an automated machine and it asked me to press 9. I did and I told the guy to stop calling me. I don't know the law in the US but in Canada you have to remove numbers from your list if you are asked to.

Anyway, the guy said "No you called me." Then I said No you used a machine and then he called me a liar and hung up on me.

Same as everyone else.  We won a vacation. I pressed 9 for more details -- intention to be removed from caller list.  They hang up immediately.  How can we block these calls without paying our telephone provider to do so?  How do they get our numbers?

I just received a call from the 1-407-965-0600.  After reading all the stories in this blog, I'm glad I ignored the call.  I dod for most of these types of calls.  Ask yourself, "How do I win a trip when I never applied to win a trip?"  These types of scams are designed to suck in the old and the vuluranable.  Thay all should be hung.

In Turtleford, SK and they have found us too.  Picked up phone and said you have won a trip, press 9, etc.  They are very persistant even with their phony website, www.specialttravel.com.  Called (*57) and traced number then called Sasktel to report the call (611).  Extremely irritating to realize people stoop to such a dispicable level.
