Who the hell is this company? Thy called me today just before midday. I was asleep as I am a night worker. I have a BT service to block these types of calls so I never needed to turn my phones off as all my family, friends and companies I deal with have info telling them not to ring me during 9am - 4pm every day. Im angry that I will have to turm all my phones off every day now so I can sleep uninterrupted. I live in Devon like the previous person who commented. Im trying to figure out what the comman factor is that connects us all. Maybe we have all used the same online shop or logged in to the same chat room? Any ideas people?

There's nothing connecting us, it's likely done by an automated dialer or something simelar.  I live in Devon, just got a call from them a few mins ago.

One thing you can try is repeatedly pressing the Star and Hash keys as soon as the automated message starts, it has been known to confuse these machines (probably they think they've connected to a switchboard or something), and they blacklist your number from future calls.

By the way, they haven't "got your number" and decided to try you.  Their machine goes through lots of different combinations, if you get called by them it's just bad luck.  They're not targetting people specifically it's pretty much random.

Thanks for the information. I have left my phones on and they havent rung again. Thanks for putting my mind (what there is of it!) at rest. Shame nothing can be done about these swines though.

hi im in the uk and got a call like 20 mins ago saying that i won a vacation i pressed 9 and then they was talking and it sounded good intill hey asked for my card details so i hung up

I'm in Dorset uk,I just got a call from same number, but hung up straight away.

I had this number phone me just now with the competition message people have mentioned. I'm also in the UK (Midlands).

I guess I'll try mashing the keypad next time they call, see if I can't confuse the damn dialer.

I received a call from this number today at 15:00 GMT, Cheshire in the North West, UK.  Heard a yank voice say, "congratulations" so I burst out laughing and hung up, since to do anything else seemed a waste of my life.  Then I googled the number and wound up here out of mild interest in what this scam is all about.  I like the man who "played em"; nice one.

just got called warrington uk asked them to take me off there system just got loads of hassle someone should shut these losers down

They kept the line open for about 10 minutes tho

I'm in London, UK. I just got a call about 5 minutes ago. I didn't recognize the number so didn't answer it. Glad I didn't now I've seen this.

Same thing : got an automatic call in London (UK) on 14 Nov 07 at 17.40.I hung up quickly as I was warned by a friend that I might be charged for just answering it.

It's definitely a con and,as we all know it, nothing is ever free !!!!

As people have already stated automated callout with the typical "congratulations you've won blah..." I've received many of this type only this time they forgot to hide their number, these guys should be put behind bars.

just got a phone call from them in scotland, and i get another number all the time doing the same thing from london.

I think if you try phoning them back you get charged a prem rate, so dont phone these numbers back, or your phone bill will be huge, and they will be rich.
just simply ignore the phone call or better if you have the facilitie, block that particular number from access to your phone.

Wigan UK now, I don't take calls that I don't know, so I let it ring until it went to voicemail but they didn't leave a message. I tried to call the number back before I googles the number, but got a message from Telecom saying the number was not recognised.

Having got to this page I'm obviously better informed, but that obiously won't stop these people.

Just got the call up in Skelmersdale (West Lancashire).

Got the call at 18.43 - Malvern, Worcestershire - had recently subscribed to a number of sites to do on-line surveys and was worried it might be connected - appears not according to these posts - unless anyone out there knows anything different. Already on TPS register so they're obviously not checking that.
