- suncitysandyI have always taken my phone off when I go to sleep and this call came in at 9 AM. First there was silence and then humming! then silence, then more humming....no message. If I get a call like this during the day, I have a little device which curses, really bad curses and loud! I will play it for them and see how they like it!

- Emily ElaineMy grandmother got a call from somebody claiming to be her grandson (my brother). My brother lives in TX, and my grandmother lives in KY. They knew her full name as well as my brother's, and obviously somehow got my grandmother's phone number. They (again, claiming to be my brother) said that he was in jail in Mexico and needed money, and not to tell our father (who my brother lives with).
Thankfully, my grandmother asked a bunch of questions until they hung up.
I think it's crazy that they got this information! I wish we could do something to stop them. - Phil replies to Aligrandson in car accident in Mexico. asked for $2800. Send by Western Union.
Caller identified himself as my grandson. I asked him for his sister's name. a long pause then the reply "Mary". He has no sister Mary - NancyMy mom who is 84 years old got a call today from this number. He said, "Hi grama, this is your grandson. I am in jail for drunk driving and need money. She asked who this was. He said your grandson, then she stated her grandson's name and he said yes it's me. She knew her grandson doesn't drink and since it didn't sound like him, said why don't you call your mom and he said my mom's a B_ _ _ _! and hung up.
She just found out he called her 90 year old sister-in-law fifteen minutes after that. How horrible is this and that it looks like it has been going on for years. It should be easy to catch these people who are taking advantage and scaring people. - superpistSomebody called my mother and said it was my son and that he had been in a wreck and his nose was broken. The caller also said he blew one point over the legal limit on breathalyzer. She was told he needed $3000 immediately. He said to only contact an attorney named Thomas Goldstein, don't call anybody else. Another number related to this incident is 514-440-4387.
- TacojoeWe received a call saying he was our grandson and had been in a car accident with a Spanish diplomat and needed money to post bail. He then gave us to his supposedly attorney. He said the dipomat had filed criminal charges and he would drop them if the money for the car repair was sent, before he had to leave the country and he was leaving today. Our grandson had to have the money in an hour or he would be in jail for Christmas. I had given him my cell phone number and when he called back I got his number and saw he was in Canada and my grandson was in Colorado. When he called back I said I could not get the money that fast and go ahead and put my grandson in jail He hung up immediately.
They are very clever in geting you to give the name of the person they are supposedly are and put the time pressure on to not give you time to check it out- Caller: 416-777-7775
- MikeI received a phone call from this number stating that he was my son and he was at a wedding reception in Spain and had rear ended someone. He said that he had an attorney with him that got him off of the drinking charges. He said he is being held in a detention center until he gets the money to fix the ladies car. He said he needed about $2500. He said he doesn't sound like himself because of the accident. I asked him which son he was and he said that he is the oldsest. He said he is at 3982 East 21st Ave. in Madrid Spain. He also asked me if I could keep a secret, and not tell anyone about the phone call.

- Beverly (Grandma)My 76 year old mother got a call today 6/1/2012 from 416-777-7775. Caller identified himself as her grandson Jason. Said he was in jail and needed $38,000 to get out on a DUI accident charge. Grandma asked him if his wife was there and he hesitated then said yes but she was not to happy with him right now. It's very sad to know that there are scam artists out there that prey among the sick and elderly. He hung up when she replied that she did not have that kind of money.

- JCMy mother just called me and said that a male called her from this number this morning. He specifically used the name my son (her grandson) calls her to say "Hi! (name her Grandson calls her), how have you BEEN feeling." She responded and he told her she didn't sound good. He stayed on the phone just a minute longer when she told him ?? (name he calls his grandfather) was coming in now. He hung up. Funny thing is her grandson lives right there by her and just saw her so he would not have said "been feeling". (past tense)

- adlemiGot a call from this number too last week but the one who is using the number is my friend who lives in Canada. He has no phone now so he is using a public phone. I could say this is a genuine call only that there are a lot of irresponsible public phone users who uses the same number to scam or fraud somebody else.
