Call from CRF DPSF. Call was already blocked. Losers, get lost. No one cares about your stupid fake charity or whatever the scam of the day is.

440-596-5815 is a miserable filthy scammer using a "Drone Phone" searching for live lines to sell or use to prey on unsuspecting victims. Today he used an "out of Area" identifier without using his phone number at 10:00 am.  Pray for him going out of business, getting a huge fine, and sharing a cell with Bubba. Block him Danno.

Cutting-and-pasting the same boilerplate text into multiple threads is considered poor form...

I just got a new telephone number and already I got a call from DPSF!

They called me today at 1:06 pm tried to call back said the number you have called has been disconnected

Have received numerous calls from this caller from various phone numbers and area codes around the country!  This started within three days of having my phone installed.

Called during Sunday dinner.  I got up and answered the call. Nobody was there.

Caller ID showed 440-596-5815. I immediately looked the number up and did not answer. All 3 of my phones are registered with Do Not Call, but I still get these calls.

Jan,-- Please don't get irritated at Slim: he's just trying to be helpful and giving practical if brusque advice.  (And keep in mind tone is hard to tell in forums like this.)  It's the marketers we should all be angry at, just as (in his analogy) it's the car thieves and not locksmiths we should revile.
 One thing I find that eases my patience with the marketers is having a standard, set, quick response to give as soon as I realize I've answered a marketing call: "No solicitations over the phone; take me off your list; have a good day; <click>."   I say it all calmly and in one breath so that it can't be interrupted, and immediately hang up.

Scam robocall from some "Mark Hamill" or something like that looking for money for "homeless veterans". These dirtbags give little or nothing to the veterans but rather siphon money away from them by making good hearted people who give them money think they are actually helping the veterans. There are only a few charities for vets actually recognized by the Veterans Administration and they don't cold call people looking for money.

Received a call from this number.  Didn't recognize the number or the Caller ID of "CFR DPSF" so I didn't answer.  No message left.  But, following the obvious pattern, this was another solicitation call...  Not getting any of MY money!!!  :)

Mine also said Cleveland Oh. called it back and it says a called a number that is no longer in service.

Caller ID said Cleveland OH. No message left.

Same Cleveland CID and no message.

Mark Campbell, sorry for the recorded call about disabled american veterans. Asked what color is the sky and computer could not answer and disconnected

They called this morning and hung-up w/ no message.  From posts going back to Sept. I gather that they are dirt bags using a variety of guilt-trip strategies to emotionally blackmail good people into keeping them in cash.  This would be a natural ploy for convicted felons who don`t want to work at fast food places or bag groceries.  Are there any convicted felons in Chicago; I wonder...?

I have read a number of posts here by folks who got a call from this number right after getting a new phone.  You might thank your friendly phone carrier for that.  I once paid for a special "signal ring" feature on my land line so I could detect an incoming fax.  I began to get telemarketing calls on it (which defeats the purpose) because the phone co. posted  (sold)? my special number on the internet with out my knowledge or permission.  I called and had to pay them an additional fee to stop posting it.  But it was too late.  Years later I still get such calls.

Got the call yesterday. It rang once and went away. I don't know who CRF DPSF is anyway.
