- anonymousjust set up a godaddy acount yesterday - received a call today; this appears to be go daddy customer service attempting to validate the account.
- Caller: Go Daddy
- josephcalls on weekends . . . no one there
- Bob| 1 replyGot this call from GoDaddy, which I have several accounts. The caller confirmed some of the domain names, and just thanked me for being a customer and if I needed anything. I've posted several times here about telemarketers calling me, but this one is legit. It wasn't pre-recorded, it wasn't to my cell phone, and I have a business relationship with them.

- BFaucett replies to BobI have been receiving several calls from this number over the past few weeks. Frankly, I don't care if it is GoDaddy or not. It's just plain annoying. Fortunately, the phone number GoDaddy has on file for me is my Google Voice phone number. So, it was very easy to just block the number in my Google Voice settings. If GoDaddy needs to communicate with me, then they can just send an email. -Bob F.

- T.C.For every person that says this was not Godaddy calling from this number, then the only thing I can say is that maybe the call you got was spoofed, but the call I got from this number was in fact GoDaddy. I had over 80 domains on Godaddy. I had a Shared Hosting account and when AT&T blocked one of Godaddy's servers for someone that was spamming on the same Server, a few of my domains got caught in the web. It took 8 freaking days for the issue to be straightened out. That's 8 days with several of my eCommerce websites, not doing any business. I then started transferring domains away from GoDaddy, thus the reason for the call today. I did not answer the call because i don't answer unidentified calls, but when I called the GoDaddy number listed on their website, (A totally different number than what I was called from) after giving them my security pin, they confirmed that it was them calling to see if it was anything they could do for me to keep me as a customer. Nothing they can do at this point. i will soon be done with them! I have 19 domains left at GoDaddy and they are on their way to another hosting provider shortly like the rest.

- T.C.Also if you log into your account, click on the settings tab, then click on contact preferences listed on the left side of the page, Scroll down and you will see an option asking may they contact you via phone. When I received the call, my settings was checked yes, but that has been changed to no, so I should not get anymore calls from them. Can't hurt to try it to see if they stop calling.

- GoDaddy customer tooAny time a caller doesn't leave a message, it makes them look sketchy. If they'd just leave a vm, this whole thread could avoided. Have a nice day.
- JohnReceived a call from 480-505-8859. They told me one of my .CO and .co.uk domains were expiring. They asked me for my zip code or email address. This sounded very strange as this has never happened to me. I've had domains with GoDaddy for 10 years now. On the other line, I could hear a lot of people talking in the background, inveritably increasing my suspicion. I told them prove their identity by emailing me from a legit GoDaddy email address. They said, "Okay, what's your email address?" I told them to use the email GoDaddy has on file. All in all, I told them that something sounded wrong and hung up the phone. I immediately called the real GoDaddy support number (480-505-8877) and the customer representative told me that they have no record of anyone calling me.
- ZaraGo Daddy just called me from this number. Caller ID says "Tempe". Regarding activity on my account and asking for the owner. You need to give them a pin number (which I don't have) or the last 4 digits of the credit card on file (the only card they ever had on file was deactivated a long time ago and I have no idea what number). So he would not tell me why he was calling. Probably because we didn't renew our email. It went from $20 a year to $60. That is a HUGE increase. And, of course, they send you no notice of the price change to give any time to find someone else. This happened with our domain and we ended up paying them a HUGE amount to get it back from them. Going now to find someone else........
