Was godaddy calling to remind me about an expiring domain name.

Can't believe the sheer number of idiots on here. Change phone number, change domain, wtf are you thinking!

Here's a good one, answer the phone instead of screening all your phone calls. You may learn something. If you are honestly so paranoid about getting your identity stolen then learn how to talk on a phone. Don't give up personal info.

Agreed - this is from GoDaddy, which I have an account. I called the number back and received crediable confirmation by asking some question about my particular account (without giving my details) that only Godaddy would have.

Received call today from 480-505-8859, he asked for my boss by name, but he was not available - I asked if I could help and he said he was from GoDaddy and needed our PIN # to validate our account.  I said I didn't know the PIN and asked for a number to call back at - he said if Dave calls he doesn't need the PIN.  I was suspicious because we've never been called by GoDaddy and our IT Company handles this type of stuff.  I took the # down and then got out our last order from GoDaddy 12/13/2012 for 3 yr renewal and called the Customer Support # which is 480-505-8877 (slightly different but a large company will have many lines...) and said I was calling back to validate our PIN....Young man was very kind and said, yes they had contacted us and were just verifying service and if we needed additional products, etc.  I asked about the PIN and he told me how to obtain our PIN (didn't know we had one) by going to GoDaddy.com website....All is fine.  This is a legitimate sales call from GoDaddy so if you have business with them, expect to hear from them.  There calls are placed from call center, so they don't leave messages on answering machines, etc.    Call Type Below:  Telemarketer for Sales

This number shows that it is GoDaddy CDT.  The CDT standing for Center for Democracy & Technology.  I do not believe this to be part of "GO DADDY"

Kept getting repeated calls and no one left a message. After checking here I picked up and was told it was GoDaddy. I didn't exchange any information with them. They were calling to let me know that a card on my account was expired and they didn't want my auto-renewals, etc to be affected. Since mine are not on auto-renew, he didn't bother me further, only to suggest that I remove the card from my account to avoid more calls. He confirmed the amount of domains I had with them and was personal and friendly.

XO Arizona inc is the local telcom that owns the number and leases it to GoDaddy just like your service provider leases your number to you.  They're no different than AT&T or Verizon in this regard.  Whenever you do a reverse look up on a number it always tells you the carrier that owns the number and not necessarily the private individual or organization that has been assigned the number.

This was GoDaddy. My Credit Card expired. I didn't feel comfortable doing anything over the phone, just in case, so I checked my email and saw that I had an alert, went to the website, logged in, and saw that my credit card had expired.

So I updated my billing info.

THIS WAS NOT A SCAM. THIS WAS A LEGIT CALL FROM GODADDY.

But, if you feel uncomfortable about giving your cc info over the phone, then go to their website and see if you have a renewal coming due, or your billing info is out of date.

I received a call from this number at 2:54pm today.  I did not answer and no message was left.  When I returned the call, I received a GoDaddy message, press 1 for return calls, 2 for service, 3 for billing, etc.  I do have domain names with godaddy, so go figure.  Wish legit companies would just leave a message.

This number has been calling my cell for the past several days and never left a message until now. It's a voicemail from GoDaddy thanking me for being a customer and asking if I had any issues to contact them.
