Just got this one labelled PACTEL, and a recording started with "This is John from..." and that's where I hung up.   I do not listen to recorded incoming calls PERIOD.   But the DNC is of no help if it's a political call-- political freedom of speech is considered "more important" or something and is not subject to DNC restrictions.   Frankly, that's BS, and it won't get through my blacklist.    I could block the entire area code or an entire prefix with my homegrown screening system, but won't unless one becomes a particular problem.

Also, keep in mind that just because it says area code 503 doesn't mean it's originated from Oregon.   Not only can caller ID be easily spoofed, with number portability you can get a number from anywhere no matter where you are.   For example, I set up a Vonage phone with an east-coast area code but I'm on the west coast (I did this because my mom went into assisted living and I wanted to have her phone calls go to me, so I transferred her old number to my house).  But when you sign up for an internet phone, you can often pick any area code you like for the number (I'm not sure what that does to long-distance calling, but I don't care because I haven't had a line for years that charges for long distance).  So the bottom line is, looking up the area code to figure out where it's from may result in totally irrelevant information.

Recieved a call from 503-468-5012 on my Cel phone.  I called the number back and got a recording that said " this is Ann with Political Openions Of America " the Servey time has expired.......  What da Heck!!!!!

I just called the number back and it was an automated answer from someone named Ann from political calls and I was called to participate in a political survey. Wait a second and it gives you the opportunity to press 1 to be removed from their call list.

Got a call- answered since my phone crashed and I lost my numbers.  It wasn't a friend.  No one said anything, then I hung up after saying hello three times.

Called twice in one minute.  Both voicemail messages were dead air.  Annoying!

multiple times a day for months. I finally answered today and about ten minutes later, I get a call from this number.  John from political whatever wanting you to take a survey, and in return get a 2 day cruise to the bahamas. Ha! Total scam. I'm so sick of these calls.
Probably my fault for answering, I'm sure I will get more calls now from different numbers.

got the same call. I too never answer unidentifiable numbers. "do not call list" must be a sham. From the looks of the reports, today must be the day!

Harmless? I'm sure they want your credit card number to reserve the cruise. And I'm sure they've been able to trick many people into giving it to them. Not a harmless survey, I assure you.

Same call here. I'm in TX, have absolutely no affiliates in OR. Not on the DNC list, but from what I've seen, it doesn't matter. LOL. Sucks that we get spammed on our cell phones now. Our providers should have fought a little harder for our privacy.

Did not recognize. Did not answer. Do not want the call coming to my number.

Only problem is they change their phone numbers every 30 days.  They do this to avoid any issues from the DNC.  When reported to DNC sometimes it will respond back with the phone number has not been registered for 30 days thus avoiding any formal complaints and continuing on until that 30 day window and then change numbers again.  Telemarketer business cycle.

They just called me in FL. I have been getting a ton of calls like these lately in the last few weeks. Annoying.

Caller ID shows "PACTEL". AC is Oregon. I don't answer and they don't leave message. Scam or Spam. I've blocked them.

Received a call at home from Ph# 503-468-5012... asking me to take an automated survey... 3 questions...
and in return I would receive a FREE vacation to the Bahamas !
I took the survey and hung up... not wanting any "FREE" vacations for I worked for a year in the Bahamas and did not want to be the object of any sales pitches!
