Hello Todd looks like we were all taken for our investments! I'm setting up a Facebook page Vista Pacifica Heights Scam and hope more people come forward to take Paul Iwankowski down! talk to several people in the same situation and it's about time we take this Crook down!

Can you tell us what went wrong with the Vista Pacifica project.  My husband and I were down there in 2009 to tour both projects.  There was nothing going on in either of them and we got cold feet.  We also went to talk to an established realtor in Jaco and they said we wouldn't be able to resell the lot too easily and cautioned us about getting involved with Wellington.  I also heard that Paul went to Panama.  So what info do you have on Vista Pacifica?

I too purchased in Vista Pacifica. And I go to Costa Rica almost yearly. I have stopped by both the front and back of the property and nothing has been done in years. I am friends with several of the salesmen from WAMCR that no longer work there and are owed money from Paul Iwan.
On a tip, I was told to call the law offices of the 'Alfred, Bacon, Halfhill & Young, PC' in Fairfax, VA. The ones listed on the WAMCR.com website.
As it turns out - what I was told by them is that Paul Iwan had a stroke and just recently became able to communicate. They had/have no idea as to who the individual 'Lot Owners' are. The project and the Wellington Offices have been more or less, abandoned.
But, after putting $800.000.00 of their own money into the project, they are working with a Costa Rican lawyer and a Construction company to get it back up and running again. As a matter of fact, they are supposed to be in Costa Rica right now (March 2013) working on this.
My advice would be to get in touch with them.

I also purchased a lot in Vista Pacifica. I also spoke to the law firm in VIR. Young told me that nobody got scammed and they were going to Costa Rica and get the project going again, and there several investors who were interested. Are the people wanting to buy any lots that were sold? The contract said if this project wasn't completed on time you had 60 days to get a full refund. I had spoken to you in the past and you had my phone and email information to contact me in regards to Columbus Heights.  Columbus Heights is a viable and alive development compared to Vista Pacifica and everyone who has property in Columbus should kiss the ground they own there as Vista and many other developments in CR have fallen into ruin.  Columbus Heights is alive due to the lot owners who have paid their dues, ensuring that the bills and expenses are being covered.  Why would you say something like you have had here?  Without the HOA- and we work VERY hard protecting everyones investment- including yours, Columbus Heights would not exist.  And the HOA is NOT associated with Paul Iwankowski, Wellington or any of the previous corporations run by the developer.
