This number has called my answering machine repeatedly the last couple of weeks. They hang up just before or right after my machine says hello. No message is ever left. Caller ID lists the number and Mason Ohio.

Got a call/message  today from a female saying "hi dad...anyone home?  I'm just calling you back...love you. "  the id said it was Mason, Oh

Calling organization funding a national transgender center. A central U.S. located facility that has counseling, job hunting skills, legal office, sexual reassignment funding and assistance, and many other things to help transgendered folks assimilate. I asked them to place me on don't call list.

Last month (July) was my birthday.  My brother asked me what I wanted.  I said a call blocker.  Best present ever.  It gives me great satisfaction to hit the red button that says "block" knowing that that number will never call me again.  In the span of one month, I have successfully blocked 42 numbers.

Still actively calling people.  I saw the number and didn't recognize anyone in Ohio, so blocked the call as it rang.  Looked it up and voila --- it's another spam phone caller.  I'm so tired of these types of calls.  I got nine the other day from various spammers.  I might run out of my allotted call blocking spots on this Panasonic phone.  (sigh)

I hooked the fax machine up to my phone permanently.  My family knows to call me on my cellphone.  I was getting 15 to 20 calls per day and the calls are now down to 3 or 4 per day since I hooked up the fax. I look at the numbers and then block them if they are telemarketers.  I tell my friends to send me a fax if its an emergency and I will call them back.  I also disconnected the ringers on the phones so i don't even hear them calling.

called today 8-9-2016 @ 1315 hours EST.  did not answer no message

Caller ID was "Mason OH."  Presumed telemarketer.

Caller ID says "Mason    OH".  They leave no message.

I call back after business hours (using *67 to block my number).  Their outgoing message is, "Hello, you've reached MDS communications.  We're a telephone fundraising company that specializes in calling for nationally recognized charities, non-profit organizations, and political committees.  Please, accept our apology if you do not wish to be called particularly if you have signed up for the national do-not-call list.  As you already know, fundraising calls are exempt from national do-not-call lists, and many people who have signed up in order to block commercial calls still like getting calls from their favorite charities.  If you'd like to receive a call back from us, please, press 1.  If you'd like to be added to our do-not-call list, please, press 2."  (I never do the do-not-call list as it can actually make things worse).

At best this is a hired-gun telemarketer who will take a big chunk of any donation for the price of annoying you by phone.  At worst, this is a SCAM, that will take all of your money and possibly aid in identity theft.  If you wish to give, contact the charity directly.

I have a landline phone that keeps a list of numbers and the time they called. It doesn't take messages and I did not activate my voice mail. I can turn the bell off. I periodically check the call list, delete most and just return call the ones I want. It's great. Almost like not having a phone, but still able to keep in touch. (It's a Uniden I bought a few years ago.)

If you have Time Warner service for phone, TV,  and computer, Time Warner we site allows you to block robocalls et. al., with a msg provided saying like we can't accept this call....;  just upgraded to this option. Hopefully, it will work.

I'm going to block this number after reading the comments going back four years with http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vladlee.easyblacklist app for Android.  Spammers and scammers are history after you add them to the block list.

The call from this number 513-229-9279 from Mason, Ohio came in at 9 pm.  That's a little late for a survey or whatever.  I didn't pick up, but it scares me to get calls this late.

i am so sick and tired of creepy crooks calling me.  I get calls from this number 2 to 3 times a day.  Most of the call i receive on my home phone are absolute trash.

Spoof caller.  Wants you to vote for Hell on wheels.  Some disgrunted Illegal, I assume?.

received a call from Mason Ohio 1-513-229-9279 since no name was identified I used my call blocker to instantly block and no more calls. I would recommend everyone  buy one if they want to keep a home telephone, my list has grown to 72 numbers. I sure enjoy using it.

Thank you for a most useful post. From the number of types of entities people got calls from, represented by this telemarketer, they must be huge. I will never answer now. I reply only to mail requests for donations when it is convenient for me.

It's a telemarketing firm calling on behalf of the ACLJ - American Center for Law & Justice. We had communication with their affiliated charity, Operation Blessing Int'l, which is how they probably got our number.  Would bet that other such calls people received from this number were for fundraising... Even if I wanted to give, I would donate with them directly via their website and not some cheap telemarketing firm calling on their behalf.  So annoying... Called twice today before I decided to answer.
