- GmaCall daily, sent me a dollar. says they are Nielsen. I tried to do the online survey but when I plugged in my fake phone number they knew it was a fake. This tells me someone, maybe my cable provider, sold my info. Told them I don't listen to the radio, we don't have a local radio station. She pushed on and when asked if I was 15 or older I said no and hung up. Blocked that number. So annoying.

- gNeilson ratings DO send $1+ in the mail for doing their surveys. However, I received a call from this number,513-696-1920, and my answering machine recorded call center noises before they hung up.
- KatInKentuckyI make it a habit to NEVER ANSWER CALL'S that I do not recognize. This caller continues to call me several times a week. I'm on the "No Call Registry List", and my phone number is unlisted. A friend recently told me that I can answer the call and inform caller that there's a law that states, once I tell an unwanted caller to not call me any longer, that the "No Call Registry" can collect $1000.00 per each call thereafter to me, for harassment. How true this is, I don't know. I'm just going to continue to NOT answer. Caller ID states that this call is from "NIELSEN".

- Brian| 1 replycalled at 11:44 am on Monday October 3, 2016. claiming to be a Nielsen Ratings representative and asked me to participate in a radio ratings survey. After the call I called Nielsen at the number listed on their website (www.neilsen.com). the quote from their website is as follows:
"How can I be sure the person calling is really a Nielsen representative?
First, our interviewers will always identify themselves by name and as a representative of The Nielsen Company. Please feel free to double-check and verify that we placed the call to you or your telephone number. You may call us on this toll-free number: 1-800-237-8611."
They gave me another number for the radio department 1-800-638-7091, who verified that the call was placed by one of their representatives and verified the information that I gave the original caller.
I did agree to participate in the ratings program. We will see how it goes.- Caller: Neilsen

- Brian replies to BrianCorrection: I misspelled Nielsen in the URL. Here is the copy and paste of the URL from the exact page of the site that he quote came from: http://www.nielsen.com/us/en/about-us/nielsen-families.html
- spamcallwarrior| 1 replyUnwanted and unanswered caller from this number. "My Privacy
How did you get my contact information?
Nielsen uses a combination of publicly available telephone, address, and Census information to select homes for our diary and meter panels".
GOOD TO KNOW THAT OUR GOVERNMENT DATA BASES PUBLIC RECORDS HELP CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROBLEM!
MOTHERFRICKER! - LukerdogHad a surprisingly GOOD call w/Nielsen last week. They had called several times over 2 days. My "blocked call" feature still lets it ring once. (We have an ill relative so we've been careful about silencing the phone.) When i phoned i s/w a very polite woman. When i asked to be removed from their call list she asked why...told her they'd called far too often. She asked if i'd take the survey cuz they wouldn't be calling any further. i replied (keeping my public relations phone tone:-) that i couldn't do so as that would be rewarding the behavior causing the issue. She said the number has been removed & wished me a good day.
Again, this was VERY PLEASANT and PRODUCTIVE response. NIELSEN WILL STOP CALLING. It's a rare experience, as usually calling the number back is a mistake. Though their aggressive cold calling irks me plenty, the actual exchange was effective and well-received.
Peace be with you...Lukerdog- Caller: Nielsen

- JoanneThey said they were the Nielsen co and that they sent me a letter and would like to conduct a survey. I asked who they wanted to speak to and who did they send the letter to? They said they sent the letter to my address and I asked "what address". They would not say the name of the party they wanted to speak to or the address. Last night they left a message in very broken english. I smell a SCAM, and told them not to call again.

- Bobbe Wagner replies to Amy Davis| 1 replyIt is legit. This is the NIELSON ratings survey company. They randomly select people to keep a diary either of the television shows watched during one week's time OR the radio programming. The dollar bills are real and are meant to be an incentive for the recipient to complete the work. I am sure the call is to follow up to be sure you received the stuff. What I DO NOT like is that they called my cell phone. NO ONE has that number and I don't like that they were able to get it so easily.
- Frank replies to Amy Davis| 3 repliesYes, this is SOP for Neilson. If you send back the survey you get more money.
- Karen replies to Frank| 2 repliesFirst I got $1, then $6, and this time they sent me $10
- yes replies to Karen| 1 replyAnd the Easter bunny left me a gold plated candy bar. Well that's as believable as your fairy tale.
- JT replies to yesIt's how Neilsen does business. They send you $1 to catch your eye and $6 if you return the survey, then there's a chance you get $10 to wear their rating meter. http://www.nielsen.com/us/en/about-us/nielsen-families.html
