It is legit.  I randomly get a few bucks cash in the mail and I just have to fill out something about my TV viewing schedule.  It's really random but I've been doing this since I moved into my current address a few years ago.

Well, we always thought they were real. They sent a survey with $2 about 3 years ago. I returned the survey even though it was many pages and took some time. Think they were fishing for information as I never heard from them again until today but didn't say who they were (I don't think as I could not understand the person who was speaking so I asked them not to call any more). But my provider did list the name Nielsen but doesn't seem to be the Nielsen we were all familiar with many years in the past as they did not send the TV attachment or contact me further though I may not have been in their demographics (which would have only taken a few questions to know).

NIELSEN  constantly leaving messages. We never answered a few years ago because we don't do cable TV, they did send us $1 which I gave to charity ... now a few years later they are doing a RADIO survey. Don't feel inclined to have a public record of my privately held political leanings or religious viewpoints...   ( and the CDC called about childhood vaccine survey a few weeks ago)

Found out how to get on the Neilsen (Radio Survey) internal do not call list for 5 yrs ... call 1-800-204-3174 ....instead of entering your phone number, you can just hit #,  then you can ask the person to take you off the list (be aware they will ask if anyone else in the household is willing to to the survey)  found the number on  http://www.arbitronratings.com/mainhome.htm  This is a blurb from the website ,,,  "Nielsen is a research company and is committed to protecting information you provide us. When we share information with other companies for research purposes, we require that same protection. Our published research reports do not contain personally identifiable information. We will NOT provide your name, address, or telephone number to other companies who would put you on a mailing list for fundraising or try to sell you something. And we will never ask you to buy anything. In fact, you can earn cash rewards by being a part of our research!"

It was a survey call about who listen to radio in my house.,they'd give you a few $ for doing it. My mom got this a few days ago so I was expecting it.
BUT what i don't get is:
1 - How did they get my #? My number is unlisted/unpublished, has been since I got it 20+ years ago!
2 - If 'Bobbe Wagner' is right about the them using the "...TV viewing for one week..."and they randomly choose who to talk to based on that information, how did they get my # in the first place?! Also I do NOT have TV at all,never have, so them seeing what a watch and then choosing to call me is VERY SCARY to think about in the first place.

This is a legit business. They send me cash and I report what radio programming I listen to. They call and check up occasionally. This is not a scam. It's nice that there are real businesses out there as opposed to thieves. If you don't believe me, you can call me and I'll tell you, it's real & good. Not going to get rich doing it but the money is real. My number is 541-224-8277 & you can text me as well.

They call multiple times at inconvenient hours. Never left message. If this is truly a survey why all the calls to the same number? I thought such calls were random selected. Anyhow, I employed my call blocking system to end this nuisance. Caller ID says Nielsen if you can believe anything is not spoofed etc.

They keep calling and calling several times a day. I can't imagine why because we don't watch TV (fake news) or listen to radio (fake news).
I am going to contact my political representatives to see about a law/regulation which will penalizes the company and their officers/employees for never-ending harassment.  I am also going to talk to 6 relatives who are lawyers (one a Federal Judge) about filing a class action lawsuit against them.

Someone from this number has been calling me multiple times a day every day for the past week.  One call came in at 12:45AM!  I've had this number blocked for the past year after the last barrage of calls from them.  What is odd is that I have never participated in a survey.  I have an unpublished number, and I'm on both the federal and state Do Not Call lists.  How they got my number and why they keep calling when their number is blocked is beyond me.

There is nothing special about your number; any other telephone can call it on purpose, or accidentally.
What would be special would be the association of some of your personal information with your phone number.
Many scammers won't have that information; they are calling to try to find out who will answer.

They are using an autodialer. They don't care that a called number is "blocked" - they might not be monitoring such results at all, or might be hoping the called number will be answered by a gullible human. Some scammers are very small operations, and don't bother to update their systems' databases for a long time, if ever. Eventually this batch of scammers will abandon calling your number as they try another set of numbers to call. But there are many scammers out there, and their calling attempts overlap. So you will get more calls in the future.

Called at 7:40 AM, said it was Nielson looking for me to participate in radio survey.  Not okay to call anyone at 7:40 - BLOCKED!

I never answer phone calls if I don't know the number, so when this number came up, I looked it up here. And they've left voice messages requesting me to be a participant in their radio survey or some sort. They've called several times and never answered them or called them back.

I had this name "NEILSON" call about 4 times and just called today May 19 and finally left a message
and number to call and stressed that they have been trying to get in touch with me?  I didn't give my
priviate unlisted number out and don't know how they got my number.  I too, answer calls I don't recognize
and don't leave a message?  I want for this company to stop calling me and to be put on the "Do Not Call List",
if there is one.

I too worked in radio and tv and am very familiar with Nielsen and the methods they use to do the "sweeps".  It's legit

It really is Neilson survey  for media.   This was our second call in a few months.
They did send small gratuity (their words "enough for a doughnut or cup of coffee")
Very polite    non-intrusive

Tried to select  SURVEY on drop down menu below but it only let's me select  'unknown'

They keep calling and hanging up
