- fluxcalled my bank and this was a legitimate call regarding my debit card. The bank said they use this company and multiple fraudulent attempts had been made on my account. Fortunately they were not approved. The bank then cancelled my card and I did not have to call this number back. If you get a call from this number at the least call your bank.
- Cali| 1 replyThese people keep calling my cell and not leaving messages. If they were legit, I would expect them to at least leave name, reason and call back info so that I would not have to check caller ID feature

- Payback replies to CaliCrap service(Card Service/Rachel) must've spoofed this number. The turds who work for Crap service has a habit of spoofing banks and other legit organizations.
- 19 year oldHey --- it is legit. They called and I was skeptical, but when my son checked his debit card there were 2 fraudulent charges from over 2 weeks ago. Of course he had no idea. I was very suprised because Vantiv called on a Sunday night --- but I am glad they did!
- Caller: Vantiv
- PowderAsked them not to call several times and they continue to call - they slightly change the last number, but it is extremely annoying and interrupts my day.

- Payment Processing replies to SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM| 1 replyYou are soo mistaken. Capital One is a customer of Vantiv. Vantiv used to be part of Fifth Third Bancorp but was spun off (sold) as a separate company during the big financial crisis of 08/09. The company is one of the bigger payment processors in the country. One of the many services this company offers is fraud monitoring. I can understand how it would seem like it's a scam, but it isn't. Even though the banks are closed on holidays, fraud monitoring is a 24/7 operation.
- rocko2010This is a number from Google Talk numbers bank, if a legitimate collector is using spoof numbers to call consumers it means that it is a fake , a scammer or simply the collection activity is unlawful meaning old payday loans which are generally uncollectable. Do no fall for it guys, even if you are in a fair disposition to settle your debts, paying a bill collector even if it si a legal one do not increase your credit limit but the pockets of some scumbag on commission. Take advise from the wise been there done that, if you are the in the exceptional situation that a collection agency recorded something on your C.R, seek legal help , it's usually free and whatever fee incurred is paid by the plaintiff. Cronh and Moss have excellent consumer lawyers which are not going to charge you anything unless you win the case.
This area code and prefix belongs to Miami, Ohio and its usually assigned to SW Florida ( FT Myers, Naples etc ) it is w/o a doubt a spoof number. - ASDFGot a call from 513-900-4000 and let it go to voicemail. They said they were calling about my debit card and that a block was placed on it. After reading about this number here, I called my credit union account and they said everything was fine - no block. Then a few minutes later I get a call from my bank about a 50 cent charge that was placed in IOWA and that they thought it might be fraudulent. I didn't make a 50 cent purchase in IOWA, so I asked them to cancel the debit card and send me a new one. 50 cent purchases are generally to test if a credit card works and it's usually from a website that's been compromised and they're running lots of cards through them to see if they're valid before running up bigger charges. It was re-assuring to get a call from my bank and speak with a person there that I know. There are still some perks to knowing who you're banking with and the personal touch.
- victimofschnucksThis is a REAL call. My information was stolen in the recent Schnucks information leak from their system being infected with Malware between December 2012 and March 29th 2013. This compnay left me a message and I immedietly called my bank directly. My bank said that this company put a hold on my account because someone in Chicago tried to charge my account....I was about 5 hours from Chicago at the time. The bank canceled my card and issued me a new one. I did not deal with Vantiv since I immedietly called my bank, but I would say they are legit.

- Ms. CookI just tried to use my card & it was declined even though I know my balance is positive. I went to the Atm to check my balance & the machine told me my card was not active or a hold had beem placed on it. I just checked my voicemail from earlier in the day & there was a message from Credit Fraud Detection. The number showed up as 513 900 4000 & the voicemail said to call 800 889 5280 & gave me a reference # as well. I have no idea what's going on or if this is legit as my credit union is closed until tomorrow. I will definitely be calling first thing in the nothing to see if this is a legit call & what is going on with my card.

- Ms. CookThis is definitely legit. I called the bank first thing this morning about yesterday s events. See above. They stated that my card had been used at a Target about 700 miles away. My card had in fact been fraudulently used. I called back the 800 889 5280 number & was told the same thing & that they had canceled my card sure to that activity.
I also called the police department where the crime occured with the location my card was used as well as date & time. They generated a case on it & are looking at cameras from the Target store at which my card was used. - it s a scam| 1 replyI received a call from this company, declaring that I had a number of charges for gas in another State that I do not live in. She gave a number of times a person was putting gas in their vehicle back to back since yesterday. I checked my bank account and these charges are not showing. The bank stated it is a scam and dont respond to them.
- Legit replies to it s a scamThis is a legit company, I answered when they called me on my cell and I only had to verify that I was the cardholder and I didn't make the transactions they wanted to verify! Some transactions were denied but if a transaction gets declined or reversed, they will fall off and never pend and the bank reps may never see that! i am a bank rep my self also!'n They wouldn't speak to my husband at home about the transactions, but that's ok he's not on my card and think about it, they are only authorized to speak to me I'm the cardholder and they are a third party!! Great team, talk to these guys right away!!
- They are a ScamGot this fishy message on my answering machine referring me to call regarding fraudulent activity.
Called my actual bank first and verified they do not use any 3rd party for fraud detection, no flags on my accounts and all transaction were true.
I called back and used the reference number given and they had my name, easy enough the phone is listed. I asked which bank, Amex, Chase or BoA. They said BoA. Funny thing is I don't bank at any of them. Had this guy stammering and scared about the FBI by the time the call was done.
They are fishing or phishing for your data. They use the numbers 800 889 5280 and 866 889 5280 and show up on the caller ID as 513-900-4000 as the company VANTIV.
I called to VANTIV and spoke to one of the executives and was told that there is a group out there using their company name and caller ID spoofing for the purposes of identity theft. He said do not give your information out and your financial institution has all the data at hand about your account.- Caller: Unknown Fraudsters
- GoetzNot a scam. Received a call on my cell, and the 800 number they left in the voicemail matches up with my credit card customer support line.
- jrockThis is legit. Just called them back and they gave me a reference number instead of social. Then after we confirmed it was my bank. They asked for the last 4 digits of my social. The card has been blocked and a new card is being issued. The amount was only $6.90 but it was charged and reversed. She said they were doing a "test" charge to see if the card was active. This is the second time in a month i have had attempted fraud on my accounts. Glad for these watchful companies.

- JohnReal service, they called I let it go to voice mail they said they were a fraud protection company and left me a voice mail. I thought it was sketchy at first I go to use my debt card and it is declined. I check my recent transaction and see there is almost $1000.00 in fraudulent charges. I called them and they informed me of what I just found out. Come to find out someone made a duplicate debt card and went shoe shopping on my tab.
- CaThis is legitimate. I called my bank and they told me that there was an out of state charge for $4.41 in West Columbia, SC. They put a permanent block on my debit card and issued a new one for me. Pretty good since the out of state charge happened only a few hours ago.

- KaylaThis is the fraud department for Fifth Third Bank. Got a call from this number today almost immediately after making a purchase for 127 dollars for an overseas magazine subscription. The merchant had accidentally charged me three times and 5/3 put a temporary hold on my card and called to let me know about the charges. While I knew that it had not been a fraudulent purchase, because it was me, I had no idea that the computer error had charged me three times. Glad to know, so I can keep an eye on the pre-authorization charges.

- AnitaThis company called me today and left a message. Said they were from Card Fraud Detection and that my bank uses them for fraud detection. They wanted me to give them the last 4 of my social. I said fat chance I don't know who you are. They said fine we put a block on your card and won't remove it until they verified my information. I hung up and called the bank who said they don't use that company and that there isn't a block on my card. BEWARE!!!! DON'T EVER GIVE ANY OF YOUR INFORATION TO ANYONE YOU DON'T KNOW. BE SAFE CALL YOUR BANK DIRECTLY.
