- Lindon CoffeeThis number called me 9x in a row. When I finally answered (after looking them up) the woman said she had the wrong number. What on earth? If it is not legit then what info could they get by saying wrong number?
I even tried calling it back but there is no identifier as to the company or group.
They simply say to put in extension number of party you are trying to reach.- Caller: Not sure--
- TonyIf there is some fraudulent activities going on and this company is actually picking it up then I am wondering if it has anything to do with the story I heard recently about a hospital in the Chicago area which had some computers stolen which had patient credit card info on them?
- meI can say I tried purchasing something from Tmobile online, the "Fifth Third" debit card I was using got declined. Upon calling the bank at number on back of card, was informed for some reason Tmobile is flagged in their system due to Tmobile's billing going through an offshore billing company. The bank appears to have resolved after I called them, was told 5 minutes to wait and try purchasing again. I'm posting here as I missed a call from 513-900-4000 at the phone I have registered with Fifth Third, so it appears this # is tied to 53's fraud detection department. Hate to post that info online for the bad guys to read but hope it helps u good guys :)
- ChuckThis company is legit - they are contracted by banks and credit unions to monitor accounts for fraud. They called me to advise me of some suspicious charges on my debit card - some thieves had cloned my debit card and cleaned out my bank account.
- Not Believing This is LegitThis number has called me repeatedly over several weeks and has NEVER left a message. I do not use Fifth Thurd Bank and the banks I use would notify me directly if there was questionable activity on my cards. I have also had NO FRAUDULENT CHARGES appear on my accounts.
I have serious doubts that this or those defending it are legit, especially since a legit business is not going to use a Google Voice #. Oh and on the Google topic the calls I get are coming from a Google Voice account I set up to do a CraigsList ad and has NEVER been used for any financial accounts as a contact! - RG replies to dontgothereSometimes when people leave a company, they forget to update ALL of their contact info at banks, libraries, etc.
- Suzan replies to Matt| 1 replyYou may want to contact your bank. This is a third party fraud detection service informing you of possible fraudulent activity to your account or your account information has been stolen.compromised. More than likely your credit card has been placed on hold until you contact your bank for further action.
- OskarI received a call from this company as well in regards to a fraudulent charge on my debit card. They told me what the charge was for, where it was located, how it was purchased and wanted to verify if it was legitimate. My bank had also called me about 10 minutes prior asking the exact same questions. I know the bank did in fact contact me as I have their number programmed in my phone. I contacted the bank after talking to this company and they verified they are working with them but said the information had already been shared between the two so I did not need to contact them again.
- Bb replies to SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAMYou are clueless. Vantiv is one of the largest credit card aquifers in the US. If they called its legit.
- teriHave a listing on Craigslist and its was from this number 513-900-4000
- andreamnDO call them back! They work for credit card companies and monitor for fraud. I contacted Capital One directly (number on back of card) and this ended up legitimate unfortunately. Just call your card's customer service directly when in question.
- mland replies to Payment Processingoh really! then why didn't Capital One know about this company? why do they know about the fraudulent charge but the bank can't see any? never do banking business over the phone!! Why would i pay for Life Lock if we get it for free? people don't listen to the swindlers…. they are the people here saying to trust the caller and give them your SS#'s DONT DO IT!! it will ruin you week I promise!
- Maggie replies to SuzanYou are right. I also didn't recognize this company and they had just enough information to prompt me to call my credit union directly. turns out just this morning weird charges were going on my credit card and now my CC is deactivated. So in this case, the call was from a legitimate business. and i have to admit, i'm impressed - they said something was noticed this morning and they decided to make the call - it's only 10 am right now. that said, it's always a good practice to vet an unknown business that calls you seemingly out of the blue.
- MeFRAUD, some kind of PHISHING. They do not identify themselves, in their voicemail or in the automated message when I called back. Dialing "0" for Operator just gives you the same repeating message.
Any time there's an issue with a credit card, the company's own Fraud Department calls back.
I intend now to check my credit card status directly with my card companies.
BEWARE- Caller: Unknown - Did Not Identify
- joIt's legit. I didn't call the number back. I called my bank directly. They checked my account and said my card was blocked. They transferred me to the people that called. Someone hacks into businesses where card datais stored and tries to use card numbers. They do a test first for a small amount charging your card and then crediting it back right away once they see tbe card is active. Then they try to make a big purchase. My bank caught it because they saw that transaction and my latest transaction were in two different cities. I get a new card today from my branch. If you don't know if you should trust a call like that call your branch directly first and they will confirm your account status.
- LucyI got the same call and called my bank. They same it is their third party fraud detection service. Some potential fraud using my debit card. Someone is traveling and trying to access my card.
- Caller: Capital One Banking
- Danielle BeachThis is entirely legitimate. I didn't pick up the call because I didn't recognize the number, and called my bank after listening to the voicemail. They confirmed the fraudulent activity and said the purchase had been denied the by the vendor when they couldn't procure any information regarding their connection to me. My account had been placed on hold and I was out no money thanks to the vendor, but it was this number that notified me, not my bank.
TL;DR If you get a phone call from this number, either pick up the call or contact your bank directly, because there HAS been fraudulent activity on your account and they will help you. - Edthis # just called me about 20 min ago asked if I was so & so I said no (as anyone I do business/ friends with does not call me by that) the guy said oh & hung up. got home & Google the # put me here called my c.u. they said my cards are fine & that the co. that would call if there was a prob. #'s do not start with that area code or any area code. I would use caution with this #
- LynSomeone from this number left a message on my answering machine. The name of the person they left the message for doesn't live at this number; never heard of her. Some garbage about her credit card. Another scam debt collector, no doubt.
