The number 515-364-6750 has been harrassing me also. If you call it, and after the voice mail picks up..... press the  *   "Star" button, it than prompts you for a password. After you type a bunch of passwords, all of them wrong, it than disconnects you. I don't know about their system, but some phone systems, after a password is attempted a bunch of times, it locks up the voice mail feature, and the client has to call the phone company to have the password reset. Good luck!

PS.  Do you really want to have fun?????... go to a magazine shop and acqire the mail order forms that they put in all the magazines. You could probably get 10 mail order forms per magazine, the way the stick them things in. Then fill out the above address and "WALLAH"! Webpoint.com is on a mailing list and they will get hammered with all kinds of junk mail.... This would also give those Indian people a chance to read and understand English better.

Has anyone thought of sending this entire transcript of complaints to monster.com and threatening to sue them? Can't hurt. They will have to realize that they are one of the obvious links.

They have called at least twelve times today (09/14/07) and have not left a message on my answering machine.  Yes, I do screen my calls but if they really wanted something, they could leave a message for me to reply back.

I had four (4) calls from this number in the last hour and a half. INTERESTING SITUATION the first call at 5:20pm was from 515-364-6750,  the other three calls at 6:05pm , 6:13pm and 6:43pm were from 732-626-9600 which according to my information is      Cent. New Jersey: Toms River, New Brunswick, Bound Brook, however the 515-364-9600 number shows on the screen where the caller's name usually is. OK GREAT UPDATE I just pretended to be my girlfriend when they called at 6:50. I spoke to Lena? Lema? from Explore Online Degrees. They as about your educational background and if you are interested in pursuing a higher level of education and in what field. I was told they would send out a packet of information to me since they have my name and address. Then I was told they will have someone from a financial company call me back. We just moved in March and all of their information was correct, but i said it was wrong and asked where they got it from. At first I was told that "Erika" filled out something online, then I was told it was a computer dialed number and this woman was calling from California. I tried calling her out on that since the number on the ID was the 515 number. I response she put her manager Dave on the phone, he was very polite and when I asked him to never call again and to take me off his list he was very understanding (pretending to be anyway) I will let you know if they call back. Now they think I am a 26 year old female with my masters degree and in interest in Nuclear Physics. Might get some cool mail soon.

The Iowa stuff is a fluke - the company that provides the VOIP phone stuff is Iowa-based (see www.freedigits.com) and free accounts get Iowa numbers.  So someone in India could be calling you all from a number "in" Iowa.  Just a data point.

It might be worth contacting the freedigits people to see if they have an "abuse" department that would disconnect users who do this sort of thing.

    This information is partially correct.

WebPoint provides a free internet phone service.  It's for incoming calls.  It's also utilize by battered women to maintain their privacy.

Foreign companies are taking our numbers and utilizing it as their caller ID.  It has nothing to do with us selling them a service nor are they making calls through us.  We have been working with other states attorney general's offices to track people down.

We respond to everyone that calls our office to compile information about the calls.  Generally people don't call you unless they are selling something and we try to trace the money trail to get to the source of the calls.

The phone network allows anyone with basic knowlege to change their caller IDs.  You are barking up the wrong tree.  Please see my post below.

This is irresponsible and your information is incorrect.  Anyone can change of spoof their caller ID and these people are just victims of that.  Why don't you just buy whatever it is these people are calling you about and trace where the money goes if you really want to get to the bottom of this.
