I KEEP GETTING TELEMARKETER CALLS RANGING FROM THE WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE HAS EXPIRED TO EVERYTHING ELSE. I HATE THESE CALLS AND TO MY MOBIL NUMBER AT THAT. THOSE TELEMARKETERS ARE NOT PAYING FOR MY PHONE SERVICE AND THE DO NOT CALL LIST IS A JOKE.

However, your keyboard has a broken CAPS LOCK button, AND you did not read what the DNC list really does.

This post has two parts.  The =second= is for people who are interested in the realities of the Do Not Call list.  The =first= is for people who have difficulty understanding long explanations, but think the DNC list does not work.

1)
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

2)
The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

Just received the same type of call-vaginal implant and or hip replacement.  He was very rude.  Made the statement, "you get my point."  My reply, " I don't get your English, so no I don't get your point."

call came in at 9:16a, 8-6-14;did not leave a msg;i do not answer calls that i do not recognize

I have had multiple phone calls from this number and have told them " if you had my medical records in front of you, you would now my medical history!!!!" Also when I told him that he had called me yesterday he told me that this is the first time "I have called"

Phone rang at 7am and I had a migraine the might before.  Nobody there.  I had forgotten to set the ring control for the phone until 9am.  If I had a remote control kill switch to zap the person who made the call, I would have pressed it.

I received several calls from this number asking for a girl name Brandy.
This caller is from India, I told him Brandy does not live here. Then he asked
me about vaginal implant. I told him MEN do not have this kind of implant and he
can not even pronounce [***]. So he asked me to correct his pronunciation.
I told him people of Indian origin has this problem. Its  scam.

Pakistani or Indian man calls and asks for me. Asks my address (which, by the way was an OLD address) Then he asks if I ever used birth control...yes....did I ever have problems with a bladder mesh or sling (something like that)...I ask what is that. He says he needs the information first. SO, I tell him that I have never had any kind of bladder surgery, bladder surgery has nothing to do with birth control and if I wanted to give any of that information out I would...if I had ever had the surgery in the first place! Then I hang up. CLICK, Goodbye Ali Baba. The next time they call...and they will call, I'm going to answer his questions with questions. Has He ever had bladder sling or vaginal mesh implants. See how he likes that. Getting tired of these calls from people I can hardly understand :(

keep getting a call on cell phone from  516-340-2446. No one talks.

I got several calls from this number and he also asked if I had had certain surgeries.  When I answered no to his questions he said I got it and hung up.  What is he after?  Can he hack into my info from a call?  What are they up to?  Had trouble understanding him completely.
