If you have not done so, you may want to add a fraud alert to your credit reports. Make sure you notify all 3 credit bureaus (Equifax, Trans Union, Experian). Usually if you add the alert to one, that one will notify the other two for you.

These people need to get out there and get REAL JOBS instead of preying on innocent people who are trying their best to make it during this rough time in our economy. - carrie62077i received a call from 517-933-2009. the man informed me that i had one a gas gift card and needed to pay only 3.97 for shipping. he had the last four # from my visa bank card and name, addh, and phone #. He informed me that a package would arrive in the mail. i continued to question how he got all this info and he kept saying a purchase that i had made on my debit card. i knew that i had not mad a recent purchase. i then knew this was a scam. i have since cancelled my debit card and reported it to my bank.

- saraSo far, these are the scam numbers I've gotten calls from:
231-732-2642
517-933-2009
I never pick up. They'll stop calling eventually. - PaulieWalnutzYeah Just got the call from "VISA" saying that I am a valued customer and they are sending a $300 gas card. I got suspicious when she asked if I live in Baltimore NJ (Friggin Idiot). She also had the last 4 digits of my account but it was on a cancelled card (Idiot). Then I asked her to verify my new card number, and she said that they dont have that information cause VISA updates new accounts every 6 months. The minute you start spending $$ VISA knows about it! So I knew this was BS. I asked her 50 questions about my account- like my credit limit?, last payment?- all of which she did not know. She got frustrated and hung up on me. The number was 517-933-2009. I googled it right away and this blog popped up- nice job! Not only did she get no information- I think I gave her a headache.... VISA SCAM GAS CARD. Oh also got a call for a $25 gift certificate to Target or Walmart
- jlsnyc replies to Lady Di| 1 replyI just got a great ideal, I gave them the number to my local Police station. Let them call the Police, in my state you will get fined for calling the police if it is not an emergency or is a crank call.
I bet that will stop now. - Lik AnaLogged into my bank account and discovered that I had $12.95 taken out by CLUBSAVE and 4.05 taken out by VALUELDSAVE.com. They had the phone numbers 18009223516 and 800-922-3615. I've never even heard of these people, and I haven't used my debit card anywhere rather than the same places I usually do. The guy I talked to had no clue what he was doing. He said I signed up for something last month that I hadn't, and I told him to cancel it and give me my money back. At the end he tried to convince me of a gas rebate card, but I told him no. I don't appreciate random people stealing money out of my bank account.

- SRD73 replies to Lady DiI recently registered my phone number on www.donotcall.gov and I'm also getting swmaped with calls. I'm keeping a list of these numbers and will be more than happy to report them if they continue after the 'deadline'. Good luck to you and everyone dealing with the nonsense.

- Interesting twist replies to Josh MinerosThis message is also for Lik of 28 Nov 08.
I notice these folks were billing my card too. Regarding getting the number, it was while placing an order for something we wanted and were offered the free stuff in addition(LD save and key buying club) which started a recurring billing. So they already have the CC number from a purchase we made, presumably from a trusted source. The 800 number had a recording of my wife being tricked into a 'yes' but did not even know much about what we were supposed to have bought. - Katelynwoman called my cell phone asking for my Grandmother. She just kept repeating the last four digits of her card, even after I asked why she was calling.
- hxclollyAnswered and it was an indian lady with a strong accent, when i said i couldnt understand her she said she would call back later.

- AnonymI always get a call from this number 1-517-933-2009 and no one ever says one word!! I am getting annoyed with this! Do people not know that we have to pay for minutes???
- TomI got a call from this number (2/12) on my cell phone in regards to a $50 gas gift card for my VISA. I asked them what VISA card of mine this was in reference to, and they gave me the last four digits of the my card and hung up. The CC digits were correct.
I have only given my cell phone number to one online markterer ever..!!!! and that company? SNUGGIE !! I purchased a Snuggie the first week of Feb. and now these calls have started.
I have also gotten a call from another number (616-980-2600) for the same $50 gas card\VISA scam. When I asked them what company they are calling from they hung up on me.
- will be calling Snuggie customer service tommorrow to complain. - AnnoyedI Do Not Answer, Ever!
I WILL block you!- Call type: Unwanted
- VirginiaI got a call from this number but since I didn't say hello when I answered, they hung up (word recognition software). I've also received calls from a couple of other numbers wanting the same information. Let me tell you what I've figured out. I bought a single item online using the credit card that is talked about in the phone calls. I only bought this one item with the credit card, nothing else. I put my work cell phone number down as my home phone. Then the calls started on my work cell phone. So I can tell you for a certainty that the company that I purchased from online has given or sold my info to these hoodlums. I do not have my work cell number on the Do Not Call list so they didn't get it from there. I have cancelled my credit card and have a new number now. They can try to get money out of my old account all they want. I feel good that I have foiled their evil plot!!!
- VirginiaOh yeah, the company I bought from was Walk-Fit.
- KD3rd time they have called, do not answer phone, read comments. Called back says not available. Report these people and have them stop calling please.
- They are calling againWell I received a call the other day, while at work from this number. No message was left, when I returned the call I left a message asking what was this concerning. I received another call this even, a guy - sounded asian, asked for me by full name, and said he was calling in reference to my credit card ending in xxxx, I said and what company are you with? He hung up the phone. I am assuming they have some how hacked into a site that I may have used my credit card for and only has the name and last four digit of your card number, so it is not wise to verify any other information for them.
- WONDER replies to DeeDeeI just got a call from this number. It's rather unnerving.
