"Linda" calling several times a day to say they have some "opportunities" that "may be" available at Capital One. I got it. They don't need to call several times a day, SEVEN days a week to remind me. She doesn't have to call from all around the countryside, using different area codes and numbers as if these are somehow 'different' opportunities than the ones that came from the other area. Basically, you have the "opportunity" to make your bill current, or else "Linda" will be after your butt call after call after call.

Must be some great opportunities. "Linda" just called back not 4 minutes after the first call!

yup just got yet another call from of course someone who cant speak english in my country but jibber jabberd asked me for my c/c # i said no not till you tell what you are calling me for he said well if i give him the number he will be able to look in and tell me   i again said no then the s.o.b. hung up on me so trully the number is 559-332-2306   just keep pressing 0   till the indian answeres

do not call lists do not apply to institutions in which you do business.  If you have a capital one account they can call you, if you are in collections with them it's legal for them to call you constantly, they are a first party collection agency, the FDCPA rules do not apply.  Do not call lists only apply to solicitors.

I'ts not disconnected, because I just called it. It appears to be Capital One.

If this Capitalon One why don't they leave a message stating who they are. I have an answering machine and they won't state who they are or anything.

They keep calling and I don't even have a card with them. I used to years ago. Linda is really annoying!  Calls from 8 am to 9 pm!

The number 559-332-2606 IS from Capital One.  And when you call it back, recording says the number is "not in service at this time".  As a former bill collector myself for 25 years until I became disabled, this a new tactic from creditors and collection agencies.  It's strange---I had a Visa Signature with these idiots with a $30K credit line (until I defaulted) and have hardly heard a WORD from them; however, when I defaulted on a $15K Line of Credit with them, they won't leave me alone---they tried sending the account to an attorney in TX (very aggressive), got no luck with them because you can't execute on a judgement if you're on disability---now it looks like they've taken the account BACK and started the process all over again.  Has Capital One (or, as I refer to them---Capital ZERO) never heard of "charging off" an account???  This is pursuant to federal guidelines.  Best way to stop the calls is to send them a certified letter (with electronic confirmation or return receipt requested) demanding them to "CEASE AND DESIST" immediately (this is pursuant to FDCPA---the Federal Debt Collections Pratices Act).

Its Capitol One. Its so funny because I was using their Credit Protection due to being out of work for 6 months and now that I am back working thank you Jesus !  I have made one payment and now its like they are hounding me for I am assuming money. Because NOT ONCE have they left a voicemail. Stupid [***] they are but I just dont answer any calld they I dont recognize the number. Ha Ha take that Capitol One lol.

Oh and just to let you know, they only pay the minimum so you go over your limit if you use Credit Protection and your close to the over limit line. So I am assuming they are calling about that. They can kiss mine thank you very much. As long as I am paying them, they will have to wait til I can pay more to get it down under the limit line.

i CALLED cAPITAL ONE THEY DENIED EVERYTHING.  Best advice is to change your phone number, reported to DONOT CALL, Set up call management so they are force to go thru your phone company, pay a littl extra $5 dollars a month and set up your phone private.  Good luck

Go to your setting in your cell phone and set a rule to all contact only.  They can't talk to you or leave any message.  Good luck

It is capital 1 and the have been calling me with 309-827-5401 as well. I do no business with Capital one nor does anyone in my household. They have my number by mistake and have been calling me daily for a month and I cannot get them to stop! I've called and they admit they have the wrong number but can't seem to delete my number from their records.

This is supposedly CapitalOne calling to offer options for making payment over the phone. They have called me every day at least three time and sometime six times each day in the last month. II usually let the voicemail answer and they leave an automated message form "Linda". Today I answered the number to get more info. Guess what, its not Linda. It was a guy who sounded like he was from India. He knew some personal details about my CapitolOne account and wanted me to make payment with him over the phone. I told him that I make my payments online and that I wanted him to take my cell phone umber off his list. He immediately hung up on me.

Does anyone know how to make them stop? I do NOT have a Capitol One account! No one else in my home does either. Yet for near 8 months now its been non-stop harassment. They call a cell phone that I have. Now I could understand if this was a new phone number , because the FCC wont let cell phone companies choose numbers, and they just have to be recycled.. thinking maybe the last owner of the number had an account.... BUT I have had this number for near 10 years now!


I have called the company, the numbers listed on their web site as well as the numbers they leave -if they leave a message- and I get a rep asking for my account number. It is the same old thing every time, they then ask for my name, then ss# ( which I refuse to give) .. and when they cant find me on their system they put me on hold and send me to the accounts dept..where I get a sales rep trying to con me into signing up for a card!!!

Stop calling my cell number you have on file. No longer has this cell number

I'm sure it's capital one.  I pay my bill every month.  But they always call and leave a message from "Linda" about special offers..  Then I have to take the time to delete the dumb message.  Annoying!  Don't want any offers from them!  No Thanks!

call your state legislators and complain of capitol one's harassment policies!! tell them whoever gets these telespammers to stop will get your vote!

People-it is capital one!  When your card is past due they will call you.  A lot!  When you pay your bill the calls will stop.  I pay mine on their website though because the guys who work in their past due account department always want me to pay my entire balance.  But yes the calls stop when I pay my past due balance onlibr
