Called and then hung-up!

Called from Google Web Sites Listings - Asked to be removed from calling list and was called an [***] and told to go [***] myself.

Please stop calling our office. We have asked you to stop several times.

We have asked this number to stop calling us several times.  They continue to call.

These people call from many different numbers all the time. I once made the mistake of listening to them...and they have hounded me forever after. I no longer answer these calls. I have no intention of paying for something that is already free.

I guess no one will ever be able to find my website as I didn't speak with them.

The recorded message (aren't those illegal now?) started in the middle of the message so any 'identifying' info they 'may' have said about who they are was cut off.

This number continues to call my personal cell phone even though I have spoken to a representative on more than one occasion who says that they will remove my number.

called back and found that they were selling something that is free if you take care of it yourself.  I have setup my google presence on places, plus, maps and do not need these trolls to do it for me. They are a pest and are going on my block list.  They are very careful to imply they are google, but they do not actually say what company is calling.

A robo call advises that your business page is not showing up on Google Places. Advises you to continue on (through the recording) to speak to a representative who can help you get your business listed. What's funny is I just looked up my business and it appears in Google Places perfectly! Hmmm! My guess is probably NOT Google calling!

If you get a call from this telemarketer, please file a complaint with the FCC and FTC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx. If they receive enough complaints, they'll investigate. In addition, they send information on how to file a lawsuit. If enough of us file and win, that should have an impact. What a great revenge, earning money FROM them! Information on their website says the FCC have shut down several of these scams.

Recording states Google Places Specialist and its EXTREMELY urgent we speak to the business owner because your website hasn't been claimed.  This is not legitimate. A website doesn't get claimed - this is just some misleading solicitation to panic or scare a business owner into speaking to the phone spammer.

If an automated message reaches you, or a robo-caller or person calls you using this tactic to gain your business - you should hangup.  A legitimate business will try to earn your business and will never try to illicit panic or "scare" you into doing business with them nor should any solicitor ever be able to say your business is "unclaimed". A lottery winning could be unclaimed or a payment could be unclaimed, even property, but never can a solicitation to spend money be considered "unclaimed".

A legitimate ethical business will also provide a live caller who will provide a clear indication of who they are and what their real service(s) is.

This being automated and using a misleading introduction in their recorded message tells you exactly how they will handle your business - usually worse than they handle their own and no one wants a business like that taking their money.

Would like it to stop disabled and have to answer. I think it's one of my doctors. ***holes!!!

Nothing against you personally, and I'm not advocating this company, but your logic seems rather flawed. I mean, technically anyone can wire the electricity in their house. ANYBODY. They "just have to know how to do it."

called my cell phone about a "Google Web..." they said don't hang up.  They were selling business listing and were clearly not Google.

Called my cell phone and did not leave a message.  Thanks to this site I will mark it as spam.

They're checking to see if the number they call is valid, then they sell the phone list.
