whoever it is just tried their scam on me.  I am a Law Enforcement officer and have seen this a hundred times. please keep in mind Craig's list is local sales for local buyers. unless someone from out of town says they will come in person and pay and pick up the item. I actually reported it to www.ftc.com.  Though I was not actually a victim, (only because I was told by my credit union that they'd hold me responsible), I decided to report this person.  I suggest everyone that IS a victim to report to whom ever they can report. Got the exact same verbage as all the others. SO glad that I looked this name and # up on the internet, otherwise I probably would have been scammed. Was thru Craigs List too. SAD!!

This is the email that I got back when I told him the cap was still for sale. Looked up the Address on Google Earth STRIKE 1: Wrong city. Called my bank about the versacheck STRIKE 2: Never heard of it. Corp had never heard of it either. Would hold it for 9 days and send to the fraud dept. Looked up phone number. STRIKE 3: all kinds of the same e-mails diffrent address and diffrent names. Number from a diffrent state then the state on the e-mail.

Pretty sad!!! Even after the reason for selling my cap is because my husband totaled my truck, and I need to get the cap out of my yard.

Dad was a cop for 26 years and I had a funky feeling about the whole thing from the start. My mom fell for a scam when I was away from home so I am very weary about anything on the net.

So once you have the check please cash it and deduct the money for your goods plus $50 that for your run around expenses.
