They called our home, leaving a message about a home loan (which we do not have) and to call them back. When I tried to contact them to find out what they were talking about the phone rings busy.

Was talking on the phone when this call came in, and it did leave an automated message about some home loan.  Press 9 to be removed from their list.  Well, I called the number back and got a busy signal.

With Ooma you can block 250 numbers and have access to the community black list with hundereds of blocked numbers. Has worked great for me and saved me lots on money over the years.

I am on the DNC list as well, It doesn't seem to even slow the spam callers down. Oh, and they left no message on my phone either. Ugh, hate them all. I don't think the DNC even slows them down.

They called claiming they were calling from chase and they were trying to get me to provide my credit card on information claiming they were calling to lower my interest rate. I could immediately tell it was a scam and canceled my credit card in case. They didn't want to allow me to call chase myself and they kept calling back from other numbers each time I hung up on them. Sounded like they were from India.

got the same call today.  The guy is definitely from India.  Said he wanted to lower my credit card rate, and needed the expiration date to do so.  I asked what company he's from and he said Credit Card Services.  I asked for his phone number so I can call him back?  He got irritated and started asking me what more he needs to do to prove who he was.  Then said his name is Tony Brown, ID # 563.  I know there are no Tony Brown's in India! ha  Total scam!  Once I pressed him again, he said, "you just wasted 4 min. of my time, and clearly are not interested in my offerings"..........haa can you Imagine a Chase or Wells Fargo Customer Service rep saying that?  Bottom line, when you see that phone number or hear the accent, run like the wind!

Got several calls from this number....the guy said his name was Steve Bolmel...ID# 578....calling from Financial Advising Services. Said I was qualified for lower rates on my credit cards. He was wanting all kinds of credit card info from me.  I kept telling him I wasn't going to give him this info until I could confirm the company he worked for. He kept saying "I assure you this....I assure you that.....I assure you blah, blah, blah"  I didn't trust him at all. I could find nothing on this company.

This spoofed number is currently being used by the drug- addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers so they can rip us off. People who have given these lowlifes their card number have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these junkies, and warn others before they are cheated!

This number is being used for a credit card scam as reported by another user. They play a recorded message and if you hit "1" you get connected to someone with a strong accent who tries very, very hard to get you to give up at least your last 12 digits of your credit card number. He will insist it is safe and you should trust him. But they called you and you have NO IDEA who they are.

If you are not sure, ask them for their company information and web site. Then you check to see if they are legit and contact them if you want to. Never TRUST anyone and you won't get ripped off easily.

Lastly, if you are not on the federal Do-Not-Call list you should sign up. It will help stop calls and you can report calls like this which really does help to shut them down. Don't worry about giving the government your phone number, they have it already! :-) Trust me, the DNC really does work to stop junk calls.

Hal-- You're sure correct the do not call list works VERY well for legitimate businesses, but as you and I and others have learned, the card service scammers are NOT a legitimate business--simply a group of druggies, out to steal our credit card numbers to support their disgusting habits! We need to be aware of these junkies, who use a variety of spoofed (false) numbers, and warn others before they are victimized!
