got a call from this number saying his name was Alex from Online Tech Support and records showed I had a critical error on my computer. He wanted to guide me through a series of actions to correct the problem.
I was not at my computer so he gave me his number to call him later.

Received my first call from this Canadian # Friday, 6/01/12 at 8:30pm.  Since neither my husband nor I know anyone or do business in Canada, we didn't answer and no message was left.  However, in light of the troublesome history revealed by a brief internet search..i.e., the computer repair scam.. we opted to file a complaint on the Do Not Call Registry.  Don't know what good that will do, but our only alternative if they call again is to use an airhorn. :-/

I received a call from this number and as soon as I answered they hung up. Are they hi-jacking cell numbers?

Tried to call back line in busy.

Just received a call from the same woman with a very heavy indian accent. She was saying she was with an internet company and that my computer was putting out error messages and would end up with a virus and was running very slow. When she tried to tell me how to look to see what the problem was and I told her I had an Apple computer and there was no start button in the bottom left hand corner, she didnt know how to respond and connected me to someone else who also didnt know about the Apple.  I hung up.

I got a similar cal from a lady w/ and indian accent also stating that my computer was sending out error messages.  When I asked for what the errors said she was starting her script.  I then asked what my computer name was, or my IP access or my MAC address to know which computer it came from but they "did not have that information."  Sounds to be a phishing attempt.

I have been receiving calls at least once a day for the last week from this number.  I press ignore, and one time left it for a message... no one there.  Very annoying to receive constant calls from some unsolicited number..

I recieved a call similar to this and the next morning my smart phone was crashed. I believe it was hacked through my phone during our short conversation. Beware.

I have all you guys beat.  I got one to these calls from the computer repairman wanting me to access files on my computer.  This jerk had no idea is had just pulled into the parking lot of my favorite sub shop.  I went along with the game and pretended to enter the commands as given.  In a loud voice I ask what did they do to my computer, my screen just went black.  This threw them off guard and they said no way did this happen.  Again in a raised voice ask what did the cause me to do to my computer.   Next the supervisor comes to the phone and said there was no way they caused the black screen.  I started yelling that smoke was now coming from my computer and I no longer could talk I had to call the fire department.  Then the line went dead……………..

I had the same # call me but said they were worried that my computer will not work without protection. I said I have protection. He said not the right one. I asked how he knew. It went on and on with the call about computers and all. He said he was from India and worked for an Australian Co.. I finely hug up on him!!

Our phone rang 3 times, I picked it up and said hello!, the caller then hung up

Got a call at 8:42pm  Played music for about 10-15 seconds, which means it was a 'call center' dispatch.  Woman with heavy accent (possibly Indian) said she was from Chronos and that my PC was having errors.  I asked what errors, and she couldn't tell me.  I said I'm not seeing errors and she started how do you know it's not giving errors.  I told her I know PCs and I wrote the BIOS.  (I actually used to work for SystemSoft and Insyde, and actually DID write pieces of it).  I've gotten calls from this number before, but they have always been hangups or long music on hold and then a disconnect.  I told her to quit calling me with her Fnnnnnn scam and hung up.

Never got to what the scam was, as I was about to make an outgoing call and didn't have time to play around.

File a complaint with the FCC!

Just received call from 600--233-1234
So,I just received a phone call from a human whose voice was altered by computer. His English was broken  in an altered computer sounding voice. When I first picked up I just heard music, which I usually would hang up on. He told me that "something is wrong with my Windows OS and that it needs to be fixed immediately and that I was not aware of it"! I told him "yes, that I was aware and have already unplugged it and taking it to my computer guy." (It really is unplugged and going to the shop, but has been unplugged for a month) He preceded with questions, and I just told him that my computer was being taken care of. Finally, I had to say "Look, I've got other things to do today, I gotta go." then I hung up.
Just a heads up the CALLER ID showed NAME NOT FOUND 600-233-1234.... I'm pretty sure it's a scam, I just didn't stay on the phone long enough to see if he was wanting my Credit Card Number. So, head's up.

He said that he was calling because my computer was bad and in danger of crashing.

Always my computer if infected with virus, and they proceed to yell at me when I tell them to get lost because all my computers have just been worked on by the Geek Squad under my contract. Sometimes they say they work for Microsoft, sometimes for my internet provider. I work for my internet provider so I know this is a scam. Last person was Ashley.

Get several calls from this number.  When I pick up, music is playing and no one ever comes on the line.  So annoying.  Wouldn't be interested in whatever they want anyway.

Received a call from this number at 3:08 p.m.  It was canned music; no person.  I hung up.  Immediately, the caller rang again and once again it was cheap canned music.  No person.  If you're going to annoy a person or violate the do-not-call laws, at least do it with a voice!
