If it is Shaw they should have the dignity to put their name on the call display. I don't answer numbers without a name I recognize because I get so many fraud calls. 2. If they are Shaw they can email their offers or warnings of service disruptions or send them in the mail with the bill as I don't make decisions over the phone. 3. Many of these outsourcing companies that Shaw and Telus use are the same Call Centers in India that do telemarketing fraud pretending as well to be Microsoft or Card Services offering to reduce credit card debt and now thanks to Shaw they have your name and number. In any case don't take any offers from them or give them any personal information or credit card info on the phone. Tell them to have Shaw to bill you if you add any service. Better still tell them to pass on to Shaw you don't deal with people who don't show up on your call display with a proper name and number and you don't deal with foreign call centers.

Yes, it is Shaw. A while ago I switched my home phone from Telus to Shaw, at least I thought I did. The person who phoned was phoning to set up an appointment so they could have my phone switched over. If you have no business with Shaw I wouldn't answer the phone though.

604-629-XXXX is a SHAW number in Vancouver, but not all of them. This one- 604-629-6986 came from Kenny Reid in HSBC bank. Robocalls? BTW - SHAW doesn't use automatic dialers.

i got this call and called shaw back  about  the sensitive info they wanted didnt give the caller any.  shaw said its not a legit call or number and they wouldnt ever ask the questions i was asked

I got a call from this number at 7:40 p.m. on Sunday night on my cell phone.(didn't answer).   I'm a Rogers customer and I'm a Telus customer for internet and TV.  They must be getting desperate :-)

I've been paying for Shaw's Broadband 50 (up to 50 Mbps download speed) service but, during peak evening hours, tests show that I get less than 5 Mbps which isn't enough to open some graphics intense websites ... so it stalls.

I contacted Shaw and their reps told me that I am on a grid that is "saturated" and for which not upgrade is planned.  In other words, they signed up too many subscribers to this grid and long-time subscribers like me suffer and expect to pay top dollar.

So I wrote to Shaw and told them I was moving my Internet, Phone and TV service to another provider.

Today I got a call from a Shaw rep who pleaded and begged me to stay with Shaw.  Sorry, too late ... I've already signed on with another provider at half the cost.  Lots to chose from, including AEBC, Lightspeed, Telus, Tech Savvy, and Yak.  I may have persuaded the Shaw rep to switch also.  :)

Maybe it's because in this great day and age of telephones, people are able to call from call centers from other cities. Amazing, isn't it?

Lightspeed, and I guess other subproviders as well,
use Shaw's cable system.
So their quality of connection can't be better than Shaw's.
The only advantage of Lightspeed, etc. is twice lower price for twice better speed.

it really is Shaw. I called shaw myself to ask about it and they told me that they have "sales reps" that do "cold calling". basically it is shaw telemarketers.

'Alex with Shaw' called several times to confirm my free installation. I'm with Telus. I'm sure if I were to call back they would want to 'confirm'  my full name, address, cc number, dob, SIN, and my mother's maiden name. Plus the call back number is an 877 number with a 6 digit extension. This is a phishing scam for sure.

Called 3 times at 11:30, women asking if I could hear her. Just answered by asking if she could hear me.  If I call it back, it connects but no one is there.
