- Lynn| 1 reply"Cindy Thomas" has been trying to collect from us for months now for something my company DID NOT purchase. Today on the phone she was literally YELLING at my CFO to "give her a credit card!!" He refused and she continued to throw insults at him. She said they had my birthdate to verify the order. I told them that was not my birthdate. She said, "Well, your birthdate or not, you are responsible for paying this bill". My CFO asked her to send/fax something to him showing what we had supposedly purchased. She said, "I will not! I have been trying to get you to pay this for months. Give me your CC number and for $100 I will make this go away! Give me your CC number!" He again refused. She told us she was going to put this on our credit rating effective today. She
I called the BBB and they have an F rating with them (A being the best, and F being the worst), and thousands of complaints on file against them. The BBB told me to contact the Federal Trade Commission with our complaint, which we did. If you would like to do the same, here is the number to the FTC: 877.382.4357.
Whomever Cindy Thomas is, she is VILE and ANGRY. I wonder how she lives with herself.- Call type: Debt collector

- spike_900 replies to KathyThis is so lame, why should we have to waste any of our valuable time on a clearly bogus rip-off company. just look at the number of complaints listed on this site.
- spike_900 replies to Larry| 1 replyi received a number of bills for $299 over the past 6 months. i ignored them all till today.

I could tell it was a scam from the beginning. I plan to report it to the BBB. She said she had a voice recording of our plant manager ok'ing an order and that she was trying to help him out by trying to collect before his name was sent somewhere else. WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!! DON'T BUY INTO THIS!!

- Danielle| 1 replyi have also been receiving these calls regarding an unpaid debt for the newsletter that i should have canceled if i didn't want to pay for it. i NEVER agreed to anything and i do remember the phone convo from a year ago where they were very polite and eager to send me FREE info to my email to further explain their services bc it was very vague to me. i thought she was selling administrative services. they also tried to say that my birthday was proof that i gave the approval. it is all [***] and the newsletter and the debt collector are the same people. i wonder if they can really send us to collections? does anyone know if that has happened? how do you check something like that? i refuse to pay and will not answer the annoying phone calls anymore. they should be ashamed of themselves.

Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Most are simple to exercise if you only learn how. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

By the way, anyone at your PoE can revoke permission to call you there. This agency sounds like another gang of extortionists who target workplaces for the shock 'n' shame value. This also sends a tacit message that ''we know you have money for us since you have a job''. These are not ''personal'' calls in the sense that employees invite them. Managers everywhere are advised not to punish their staff for some intruder's hostile and/or illegal collection activity. - Upset man| 1 replyGot a call from Kathy- this was her office number she left on the voice-mail.
It appears as though they want to file suit against my business for a product I never ordered, a piece of junk mail that clogs my mailbox constantly and has resulted in the deforestation of over twelve acres of pristine Amazon forest land. For shame, Kathy. No ethics, no morality.

- Mark R| 1 replySame thing happened to me today. Bobby from International Credit recovery called with the same story as as everyone said above. As soon as I said "this sounds like a scam" she got verbally abusive with me saying how unprofessional I am and threatening to call "the other number" (our main switchboard). We asked her to send coipies of all the invoiecs she has sent. She didn't have them. We asked her to send ANY invoices. She said she would fax it. We haven't gotten it yet. So be careful out there!

- Ken| 2 repliesMY TURN! I received my call from a young-sounding Kelly Hershel. Same story. PBP turned over my account for collections. She said I accepted their IT trial subscription and basically had to opt out after 30 days. I told her I get only one publication and it's from IBM, I don't subscribe to any other and I N-E-V-E-R accept a free trial of anything. And guess what. PBP had my email address and my birthdate as "proof" I authorized the charges! I laughed and told her my email address is all over the internet and on our website and my birthdate is no secret...starting with Facebook! I just laughed and asked her in this day and age if she really thought those two items were somehow internet secrets. So then she decided to pursue the line of questioning of what I wanted to do about the outstanding balance "owed" PBP because they've been sending me the subscriptions. I again told her I never received the publication and junk mail is discarded without being read. She pressed on what I want to do about it. I told her I want her to tell PBP I don't know who they are and don't intend to pay. She abruptly told me "Fine, we're going to report you delinquent!" and hung up.

- Laughing at Morons replies to KenSame for me today and the same person- Kelly. She wanted my credit card number to get us immediately out of account delinquency and if I didn't give to her, she would be contacting my CEO. I asked her to cc me on the letter she sent to my CEO to tell him that I was forcing our account into collections for $299. Wow, I'm in Delaware. $300? Really? I fully recognize she wants my card number to get a lot more than $300, but if you are going to threaten a large organization, you might want to at a minimum have "000" after what ever number she gives. Maybe she should do a little research on the organizations she is calling.
She became agressive when I thanked her for the phone call and that no, I would not be providing her my credit card number or checking account + routing number. I also told her it seemed like she was having a bad day and maybe she should try back when she was emotionally prepared to have the conversation. Good entertainment to start the day. This being said, I could see that a phone call like this could be intimidating for someone in a smaller organization. Key question- would you share the name of the company and subscription of the product? (She freaked when I asked her this question) - C in NJ replies to Gary Hammer| 3 repliesSame exact thing happened to me, I have seen no issues but did return an email and invoice both as cancel. Now this lady named Amanda keeps calling here and she is indignant and will leave no information with my assistant. Until she does, I have no intention of returning or taking any of her calls.

International Collection Agency - ENH| 1 replyI got the same call everyone else did - from Chris Bennett, saying my company owed $299 for a "verbal contract" I allegedly signed, in order to receive a year's subscription to the "Internet & Marketing Report" by merely giving my birthday - that the first two months were free and that bills would begin in month three if I didn't call first to cancel. He seemed extremely genuine and was happy to get me set up on the Do Not Call list going forward... wow, there's some seriously shady business happening out there, against those of us trying to earn an honest living. Very glad I looked into this online before shelling out my company's CC#!!!

- JuannyG| 1 replyAfter receiving a call today from International Credit Recovery, Progressive Business Publications started searching on the net and found dozen of sites like this reporting this scamming. What is unbelievable is not what they're doing but for how long and still they are in "business". Fortunately I was not intimitated and I did not provide any additional information to keep harrasing me or my company. I am not going to pay anything I did not ask and even did not receive.
