- c.westThanks so much for these posts! I would have went way out of my way to go to this interview and paid for gas and babysitters.
- ChristinaI got a call from the number 610-279-4801 today at 9:36am...the woman never gave her name, never asked me about my background, only mentioned she was given my resume by her director because they found on CareerBuilder.com...she invited me to an interview tomorrow morning. The woman sounded very scripted- she kept asking am I looking for a career, do I want unlimited income, yada, yada, yada...so I accepted the interview invite and again she never mentioned the company...so she proceeded to give me the address where the interview is going to take place, time, and told me to dress professional (duh- it's an interview)...I could tell she was rushing because she didn't even want to wait until I repeated the info back to her...before we hung up I asked her what was the name of the company and she said American Income. 30 seconds later I googled the company and telephone number and needless to say I will not be attending the interview tomorrow. BTW the interview sounded like it was more like an information session. I called the 610-279-4801 number back to attempt to cancel, but it was a voicemail...no company name, just a voicemail...this company is very suspect and I want no parts of it. Thanks to all who is reading this.

- KJThank goodness, for this website. I just got a call from this company today about an interview for tomorrow. I knew it sounded too good to be true. I was worrying about how I was going to get to Plymouth Meeting, PA from Philadelphia. I got a call from 610-279-1861 from a woman named Donna. Thanks for the heads up, guys.

- RJJust received my call from 610-277-3832. Usha (610-279-1861), was impressed with my resume on Career Builder and wanted to schedule an interview for tomorrow. My background is in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, nothing in my resume remotely connected with benefit administration. I asked that question and was informed her superior was also impressed with me.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR POSTS! Job hunting is difficult enough without having to waste time dealing with scams.- Caller: American Income
- LauraGot a message on my voice mail today from Barry (Chaucer? couldn't clearly make out the last name) at American Income. He stated he saw my resume on Monster.com and had a few questions for me. I called back both the number on my caller id 610-272-0697 and the number left on the message 610-279-4801. Both numbers reached the same recording of a British woman's voice stating "human resources" and then recording that this department can not be reached. Called back again and a woman answered and said it was a life insurance company and said she's give Barry the message that I had called. Didn't say the company name, I had to ask. Sounded VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Thanks for all these posts!

- ShamikaI received a call from someone named Marie and she scheduled a appointment for me to come in 9:30 the next morning and thank god I researched the company because I would have drove out there for nothing. I was told that I was highly qualified for a position that I was seeking this web site saved me a trip from north Philadelphia all the way out Plymouth meeting.
So I too can agree with everyone ~~~SCAM!!!!!~~- Caller: American Income
- Shamika replies to Jo AugI agree with you all the way on that one. I feel as though these phone calls are a waste of my time and if nothing is done about my information be used fraudulently I will take that action of reaching the hire authority.
- michelleDid anyone respond to a job posting for the position of Team Leader to a company that did not list the name of the hiring organization?
Something felt suspicious about the ad. The phone number listed above was listed on the ad to request an interview immediately from the hrs of 8-2. I called from a hidden number after hours and a voicemail with the outgoing message of "Human Resources" in a female voice with a heavy accent.
After reading the comments here, it makes sense that this is a job difficult to fill and though the job isnt a scam, the hiring processes is as it is misleading.- Caller: supposed Employer
- GeorgeI'm questioning the legitimacy of Monster.com after I posted my resume on their site and have been getting calls from American Income (life insurance) at 610.279.4801, as well as Bankers at another number. Whenever the economy takes a downturn, life insurance companies get desperate for sales people, which they go through very quickly. Not a good move for anyone who's looking for a stable position, and Monster.com should be ashamed of themselves for being part of what is in essence a "legal scam."

- BarryAmerican Income Life Insurance Company, like other insurance companies impacted by the recession, is trying to increase declining revenue by throwing more sales bodies at the problem. It costs them little to put you on commission-only compensation. Their desperation comes from the fact that nobody really NEEDS insurance, so it's the first bill you quit paying when you lose your job. So now they're calling anybody with a resume on Monster, regardless of their background, to recruit them for insurance sales; never mind that most people would rather stick needles in their eyes. Farmers is even telling potential agents that they will give them their own brokerage, "no insurance experience required". That makes me almost feel sorry for existing Farmers brokerages that have been built by experienced brokers.
