World Financial Bank. From what I've read from others, this must be a zoom. They have a new number. This one hasn't been reported at this site yet. My phone rang twice. When I answered, the phone was dead.

First call was a recorded message - lady's voice with a British accent ask me to hold for an important call & it was not a Solicitation call.  I hung up.
Then they called back with a live person on line & I asked to take our name & number off the list & not to call anymore & she said she could not do that - that she was not selling anything & needed to speak to the person she asked for.  I hung up.

This # called me at around 9 am during the week. I got a recorded voice telling me to hold on as this was not a sales call so i hung up. Over the last 5 days they have called me at 9 am on a Saturday and 5 more times. I picked up 2 times and the phone went dead. Today I called the number back, got a live person, and they would not identify themselves but said they were calling about one of my credit cards, mentioned my first name, and then said they needed me to first verify my full name, date of birth, address, and social security number. I told them to never call me again and let them know that I would not give then that information and planned to contact my credit card directly. The lady said "ok, thank you" and hang-up.  Sounds like a scam to me.

I have been getting phone calls from this number.. i have not called back because in these days i refuse o pick up the phone if I don't know their numbers.  I am just wondering if anyone receiving these phone calls are late on their mortgage bills.  I am a CW customer and wondering if this is why.  However I have gotten phone calls from CW and those I pick up.

World Financial National Bank is the front for Gander Mountain credit cards, and numerous other stores, I'm sure.

First, I started receiving phone calls from an unavailable number. Sometimes there was a live person, other times it was a recording of a British accent saying "This is not a sales call. Please stay on the line for an important message", still other times there was dead silence. When I got the live person, she asked for my husband and when I said he wasn't available, she hung up. This happened almost a dozen times in one day. The next day, I missed a call from 614-729-6083. I called it back this morning and was put on hold, then a real person came on and asked for my acct number. I told him I didn't have one and didn't even know who I was calling. He stated it was World Financial National Bank and that it was regarding my Gander Mountain credit card. (Which my husband forgot to pay)
They obviously use scare tactics, which is silly considering this is the first time we've ever been late and it was only late by a few days... Anyways, this is legit...not a scam, although their business practices are questionable.

These people are calling my home at 7:40pm on a sunday evening, even though I'm on the Do Not Call List. They just keep calling over and over everyday. Time to report them to the atty general, FCC, and FTC.

Whitney, it may be legit, but they cannot call peoples homes at 7:40pm on a sunday night, or after or before certain hours. Report them to the atty general, FCC, and FTC. Also contact your loacl or national TV stations and see if they'd be doing a story on this companys calling practices. I did this last time, and within one day of the TV station aclling them to investigate, all compliants stopped. This maybe them back under another company name.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having trouble with these people. I have yet to answer any of the calls, but I'm getting SEVERAL day. Over the past couple of days the calls have started alternating between the 614 number and an "unavailable" number. It's ridiculous. And forget scare tactics...it's called the IGNORE button for a reason. Don't let it ruin your holiday!!

Actually, I looked up the credit laws because I'm receiving dozens of calls each day from this and other numbers they have.

They are an inside collection agency, which is NOT covered by the collection laws.  They can call whenever they want, which ever day they want.

The collection laws only cover outside collection agencies.  So until WFNNB sells off your debt to another agency, they have legal access to harrass you, sadly.

WFNNB also owns credit cards for Victoria's Secret, Abercrombie, Express, New York and Company, and many others.

Also, if you can't get to the phone to hang up their calls and you're tired of hearing them call, save them to your address book and select a ring tone just for collection numbers.  That way when you hear that particular ring, you don't have to race to see who it is or if you should answer.

I receive calls morning, afternoon and evening.   There is a canned  message at the beginning and they say someone will be on the line shortly.   I have waited and told the person I did not want to be called by them and to take off my number.    Everyone was nasty and then hung up on me...

rang my cell phone this morn @ 10:36am.  Did not answer since I did not recognize the number nor the area code.  they did not leave a message.  i'm current in all my bills, figured it was a solicitation.  hope it's not a recurring call like some of the posts above.

So a company can legally harass you verbally, but if it's someone you personally know- they can be taken to court.  Land of the free or just the absurd?

I have recieved several calls on my cell phone from this number over the past week at various times in the morning and afternoon.  Someone finally left a message saying they needed to talk to me about a credit card I reported lost.  I have not lost or reported a card.  The woman that left the message did not mention what company she was with, just that it was a Master Card.  I have recieved two calls just today and when I tried to answer, there is no one on the other end.
