- Elspeth replies to CJLMake a note of the dates/times of the calls, and take a photo of the caller ID on your phone to show the number that's calling. If you can get them to give you an address, mail them a cease and desist letter, certified mail/return receipt. Please note, however, that many scammers or shady debt collectors will not give you that information, and in fact, they may give you an address at a UPS or other mail facility, if not an outright fake address (you can Google and map any address that they do give you.)
The important thing to remember is document, document, document - every single time they call. If, after receiving the cease and desist, they continue to call, seek out the counsel of a consumer attorney - many will work on contingency if you have a strong case. All this assumes that your callers can be found. Again, scammers and shady characters are not going to give out any information which may lead law enforcement to their door.
Please do report these losers to the FTC (www.ftc.gov) and your state's Attorney General (www.naag.org - you can find your state AG here). As a last resort, you may have to block their number(s). If your phone doesn't have that feature, then Google "call blockers" - you can get a good one for less than $60. - Terence ScottJust started getting these calls. To my knowledge they are not affiliated with any bank I have dealings with. they leave no message. As I have not gotten any late payment notices by mail I have so far chosen to ignore the calls. eventually, should this continue, yeah, I'll get legal on them.

- hatemesometelemarketersCommenity Bank purchased a number of small credit card companies and store accounts. So you may indeed have an account with them. They did a very very poor job of rolling out this information when the changes were made. In fact, you probably got emails that since you had no idea who they were, appeared to be spam. They didn't send me any snail mail at all. I found out the account owners had changed when I went online to make a payment and the account had been zeroed out again WITH NO INFORMATION on what had happened. I figured I would get something in the mail and after a few months I did. Of course by this time, the payment was late.
We went round and round on that. So if you have anything with GE Capital Credit or a visa/mastercard that was a store card (Coldwater Creek for example), Commenity bank is now the owner.- Caller: Commenity Bank

- G.E. BilliardsThis Company, Comenity has called us over three dozen times in the last week alone. Then they have called almost every 1/2 hour today, starting at 7am eastern time.. When I tell them that my wife is not available they refuse to talk to me and hang up. The last one told me to go F..... myself when I said that if they did not tell me what this was in regards to I would forward there information onto the Police and FBI. Then they promptly hung up again. We are now recording every date and time they call and giving it to the Local Police Detectives.

- KaterinaI received a call on my cell from this number this morning and after several days of ignoring the number and not picking up, I decided to answer. Initially, a machine answered asking me to please hold and that it wasn't a sales call. Then a live person got on and asked to speak with me. I asked who was speaking, she quickly identified herself and that she was calling from Commenity Bank regarding my Ann Taylor Loft credit card. I then told her she was speaking to the correct person. She quickly apologized for calling as my account appeared that I had recently made a payment and scheduled payment for the following month. She was able to tell me the amounts and dates. She then asked me to confirm my address. I told her she should have it and she said she did and gave me the last 4 digits of my home phone. Even though it seemed legit, I still refused to give her any of my personal information. I must say that she was pleasant and apologized again for the inconvenience. She did mention that the call was placed on an automatic cycle. I do know that World Financial Bank works with my store credit cards. You can look it up online to see which ones.

- The One replies to GLI have an android phone, Note 2. I have had this same number call my phone several times and do the same things you guys are talking about. I went into my settings and added the number to my phones blocked call list, and done. Also, I bought new cordless phone system from Panasonic, model KX-TGE230. This phone will allow you to BLOCK up to 250 numbers, phone won't even ring. This was my solution since the do not call list from the government isn't the greatest. Hope this helps.

- BrightSideI am retired and get calls from this number as well as 913-312-5184...The caller ask for some dude I have never heard of but I tell them...Speaking...from then on its total fun...they tell me the call is recorded. I have tried telling them I don't want to be recorded but there is no way of knowing, so I let it go...They tell me I have an express card balance of some amount under $100 which is several months past due and want to know if I want to make a payment on it...and I tell them No...they then try to determine why...saying its going to hurt my credit score...etc..etc...and then ask me again if I want to pay it...I ask them what part of ..NO...do they not understand...the N or the O...I ask for the account number and they tell me its the number on the Express card...I ask them which Express card...if you ask them for the last 4 digits...it changes depending on which number is calling and sometimes changes from the same number...They try to get my home phone number, where I work, If I am employed, I usually tell them no...I don't work...they want to know what my source of income is...I tell them that I rob banks....it is fun and entertaining....Hey..us retirees need something other than just Bingo for entertainment...Besides its job creation...I figure with minimum wage at around $8 an hour and it only costs me $3.70 an hour in cell time..I am creating jobs a lot cheaper than the government is....I lost track of the number of calls I have received from the so I need to ask them the next time they call if they are tracking the calls to me so that I can calculate at what point it will cost them more than what they claim is owed...I even added the numbers to my contact list so I know when it is one of these debt collectors calling an it is play time...they have no clue who they are talking to...I need to patent the job creation part...sell it to the government...
