I just had a call from this number and I don't even have an Amex card... scam obviously.

Just called AMEX to verify 623-492-4206. The CSR said AMEX doesn't have that number in their contacts list. Also, no one from their support team called me regarding my account. If it was important, they would have left a message.
    SCAM for sure!

I was about 98% certain that this was a scam call based on the background noise and the ineptness of the message that was left by "Kadian".  I called the # from the back of my Amex card and, completely by chance, was connected with Kadian.  It was a legitimate inquiry about my account, which fortunately is in good standing.

Then why are you here? You already know who called you. And why DID "Kadian" call you anyway if your account "is in good standing"?

Called asking about my company and how happy I am with taking the card. Had no issues, told to expect email following up call. Been 6 hrs and no email? Not sure end game, cross fingers it’s nothing.

You were told to expect an email, didn't get the email, yet still marked the call as valid?

I verified with Amex & this is a legitimate # from the American Express Security Department.   If you have an American Express Account, please call the number on the back of the card to verify.  Many people called do not have cards or have canceled their cards and AMEX has millions of customers and mistakes are sometimes made.

Your first sentence shoudl have read "I verified with Amex then decided to look up the number anyway, depsite already knowing who called me."  I'll concede your second sentence contains valuable information, though. You should NEVER trust a random caller to be who they claim and ALWAYS call the number on the back of your card instead. Scammers frequently spoof legitimate phone numbers.

Called me twice and left a voice mail.  Got my name wrong and preceded to say there's a security alert on my Amex Gold Card with stuttering and pauses.  First off I don't have a gold card from Amex.  OBVIOUS SCAM.  IDK if this is a spoofed number.

Same here.  Please folks, do NOT give information to anyone who cold calls you.  Call the number on your credit card if you want verification.  This is a SCAM call.

This is the 16th. call I've received from this number.  It is absolutely a SCAM.  It is NOT American Express.  I have called American Express and told that is emphatically NOT them.  If you call the number back, you will get a recording that says "You have reached a Non-Working American Express number.  Please phone the number on the back of your card if you need further assistance."  Clearly, the posts suggesting that this is a legitimate number are either basing this on outdated information or are the scammers themselves.

This number called three different phone numbers I'm associated with (family members calling me panicked that my account had fraudulent charges) leaving voicemails that they are from AmEx Membership Rewards fraud department. Contacted AmEx via chat and confirmed this is a scam.

I have recently reached out to American Express to update some merchant banking information. The verified American Express number I used to call them was 1-800-528-5200. Both times I have called them I spoke with a man with an Indian accent that was able to verify and look at me accounts with me. However, I received a voicemail from Bella with American Express (a woman with an Indian accent) on the number 623-492-4206 and on the voicemail she asked that I call back on 888-854-4549. She did reference the same reference number from my communications with the real American Express. However, I will not be calling back either number from her call, but the verified American Express 1-800-528-5200.

Call showed Americanexpress on caller ID.  That was the first red flag.  The E should be capitalized.  A woman left a message that it was not a solicitation call, but that there was fraud on my husband's American Express account and that this is not a scam and to call back.  We knew it was a SCAM.  My husband did call AmericanExpress using the number on the back of his card just to check for sure and they said there was no fraud on his account and they would never call him..
