- MarieJust had a call from 623-492-4206, saying they were from Amex and there is a suspect payment on my company account. They advised me to call 1-888-426-7995 between 8-5 Arizona time. I called 623-492-4206 and t says it is an old Amex number no longer in use (probably due to scammers) . I called the 1-888 # and asked him where he was, he said India, total scam.... We do not have AMEX at our company...

- JosephScam caller posing as American Express. This number called asking for me, but I was unavailable. They told the person who answered the call to tell me to call the number on the back of my card. I did and gave the rep the phone number that called and was told that the phone number that called isn't affiliated with AmEx and that my account was fine and advised me to block the number.

- DannyThat number was a phishing number. I was a victim of that fraud because they caught me off guard. I received a call from the actual 1-800# for Amex the main line that is on the back off the card. I answered they stated there was fraud on my account and they needed to "secure" it. They asked to disable my call forwarding by saying that the process needs to be streamlined and can't be interrupted. I was given this number to call from another number which also was Amex. HOwever all of their numbers were spoofed unless they have an inside person working. This was about 3 months ago.
If Amex wants to reach me they can do so by secure message in my online account or leave a message what they want. If they don't leave a message or are specific why are they calling. I will never call them back no matter what. Amex should know better and all the other banks to not call anyone and if they do leave a v/m in what it regards to and then ask to call the main line and not some random number.- Caller: Amex

When I called them out on the scam they said I could call the fraud department at AE, they even gave me their number. Problem is when I called AE and asked abut the 623-492-4206 phone number, they told me no such number is affiliated with American Express.
