Phone Co. has. legal and correct data that they can give up they no the true caller. One day it might get to that.
look at your phone bill. years ago it used to display were call came from,  knowledge is power, knowledge will stop phone scamming

However, if the caller uses a VOIP network (as many do), even the phone company does not know who they are!  It is VERY easy to use false ID to register to use a VOIP phone system.

Your exactly right about getting a law passed, I tried to get there in an above post about knowledge. Phone co. nos exactlty
the true caller calling you.  But if you call them and ask for that info, they wont give it to you. We need a good strong legal
entity that will try and change that, sort of like the Freedom of Information Act, or accessing your credit report.   once you get the true callers info you take them to court and sue with correct knowledge.  I bet in 6 months 75 percent of scamming
will stop. so this has nothing to do with blocking a number, it has everything to do with going to the real source. Just look at these posts in here.  caller says im calling you about back pain from a tv ad you seen,  How do they no that, or a Microsoft
wanna bee tech calling to fix my computer because they detected a virus at my end,  and you don't even own a computer.

The FTC recently made an official statement that telephone companies can block robocalls. So, at least part of the "law" exists.  However, it is up to the phone companies to allow the option.

Rather than rely on the phone company (which can charge a monthly fee for that service), why don't you purchase a call blocker, and DIY?

Yesterday, I had calls from two separate numbers within 10 minutes of each other. My father has been hospitalized recently, and I am here to tell you that the Inova Hospital System here in Northern Virginia must have the $h!tt!e$t security on the face of the earth!

My wife and I were designated as “emergency” contact, and now the calls have started. I configured No Mo Ro Bo, and it has helped. But...Many of these callers “call bomb” with several calls at exactly the same instant, to overwhelm the simultaneous ringing, and they get through all hours.

And I still can't get over the suspicion that Inova employees somehow benefit from selling the personal information of their patients and their families!

Will report to national Do Not Call complaints. Lately that has been working so well that the illegal scam calls have virtually stopped as soon as I make the reports. I just hope they have the troops necessary to track these @@@@s to their nasty lairs.

Panasonic makes several models that can block 10s of thousands of calls using a Global Block.  Foe example, you can enter 123-456-#### and all 10,000 numbers in that exchange are blocked.  The spammers frequently change the last four digits but much less often change the area code or prefex.  Of course they occasionally do that too, so no blocker is 100% perfect.  But they are much better than they used to be.  Google Panasonic and look over their models.

Called law office here, dead silence on line, caller ID said call was from NY and displayed number.

Same leaches- just a different number....  Same robot call message as ones I received from other phone numbers.....

when I answered this call, thinking it was from a legitimate person.  It was an automatic voice telling me they are returning MY phone call for the back brace.  If I didn't want it I was to push 2 . When I did that the operator got in the line to tell me about my back brace.  These types of calls are supposed to be illegal aren't they since signing up with the no call registry ?  It's getting harder and harder to tell if the calls are from these nuisance caller or someone I know .

Got call on Mar 23, 2015 @ 1:26 PM.   I had no idea where this weird area code is and I never answer calls from  these sorts of calls.  I really with the FTC would do its job and nuke this nonsense.  Of course no was left.  Spammers suck.

Calls and just hangs up

Caller I.D. reporting this  number called from New York March 24, 2015.   I don't answer calls I can't identify.   I lift receiver and don't say a word;  caller didn't leave a message and  I pressed 'pound' key 8 times quickly, before I hung up.

A short while ago I got a call from this number. Recorded message telling me they were calling me back at my request in regards to a TV ad.
Well. That is interesting since I don't watch TV. I don't have a TV & I am not stupid enough to give my number to anyone on TV. Bet these creeps live overseas & think all Americans are stupid.
Stomp on them.

Stated that this is the return call I requested about a back brace....NOT ! ! !  Gave me the option to press 2 if I wanted the calls to stop....It transferred me to a person with a heavy accent asking if I had back pain.  I requested I be removed from the calling list and the creep hung up.

Caller ID showed the number.  Only a partial message was left on the answer system:  Connected to one of our a... .

I'm guessing that the word that got cut off was "agents."  But, I have no idea what if anything came before the word, "Connected."

I do not answer incoming calls if I do not recognize the number or it is not in my contact list.

Got two calls from this number today. Did not answer. Came here to look it up.
