She says that her name is Tiffany harden and the first call was yesterday from a blocked number and the second call was today from this number stating they were going to serve me papers between 10 and 1 PM either at my residence or my place of employment and that if I don’t reply that’s all this is going to be put against me.

I received this same call this afternoon but the women’s name was Vanessa. She then called my husbands number, same women - same voice  - same number and left an identical message but said her name was Olivia. The number she left for me to call back doesn’t exist anywhere in google or a reverse directory.

They are still pulling the same scam as of Feb 2020.

Got the same call today from a Lisa Meyer saying she had certified documents to serve me at either my home or work within 48 hours or they’ll view it as I’m failing to comply. They called my cell, my work phone, work cell and husbands cell!!

Yes, this is a scam. They called as an unknown number on caller ID and leave a 264 Texas number yesterday that a Heather an.indepwndent courier is coming over to deliver papers. Probably women scammers with cell phones in their Texas prison cells. Inmates are good at these scams. Read up on this. She called me and my wife's brother yesterday. Don't call their numbers. They don't really know your address to bring anything over. They will ask for money over the phone.

They called my hubs phone looking for ex hubs who I’ve been divorced from now 7 years. My caller id said potential fraud

Constantly calling with threats for someone else I’m my family but they call my phone !!

Received a call from this number from a lady asking me to call a ‭+1 (530) 288-4456‬ with a case # when I called it was the same thing some guy making an assessment and telling me I would have my wages deducted and taken to court.  Called dropped and he called me back.  I told him I wouldn’t disclose any information and they could mail me any papers they had • called dropped again and he called me back with the same story until he hung up

They have called multiple times once last week and once this week. Called 3 other numbers I’m not even associated with saying I need to schedule getting some documents. Have the sheriff bring them if it’s that important otherwise get off my phone

Similar situation,a guy name Bryan Warner from 646 982-0993 called saying that he was going to deliver papers to sue me from the check cashing store but to please call 844 701-5869, i call and spoke with Anthony a very well spoken dude saying how their suing me and to settle over the phone, i said i used the check cashing store more than 7 years ago and i did not owed any money, he convinced me that I did, I graved my credit card and almost paid him because i was not sure since it was so long ago but at that moment i said to him let me call cashing store first because im pretty sure I paid and yup I called them and i didn't owed any money, so scary i almost paid :(

This number calls me daily! And from different states! Of course when they do call your number, and it actually shows on your caller ID, it’s an invalid number! You call it and you get a nice...b-dB...the number you are calling can not be completed as dialed” blah blah blah

They keep calling our business telephone number and then hang up -- it's umpteen times per week, sometimes throughout the day!!!

Second call in 2 weeks.  Same woman from 2 different phones number.  Says the call is for Donna XXXX, a women's name and I'm a guy - lol.  She never leaves a detailed message, just vague semi-threats of court papers.  Get a life losers!

Same thing happened to me the past 2 days. They called my mother and also my brothers wife. Same message to both of them, Ashley Harnett is the woman's name saying she was an independent processor  and they will serve papers at my work between 2-5. I spoke with a man named Anthony Adams. He said I have a  check into cash loan from 2016 that they are seeking legal justice on. Loan amount is $649. I told him I paid my loan back that I did get in that year and he said no I didnt. I said then its fraud and he kept trying to imply that it was my bank account and it was an online loan. I said I was contacting an attorney and he didn't call back. I guess we will see tomorrow.  I'm angry that they are calling family members. Isn't this considered phone harassment? The number they gave was
844-701-5869. Is there a website to report them?

Similar situation to yours with a lady named Ashley Harnett. Did you ever hear back?

"Ashley Harnett" called me two days in a row claiming to be a process server with legal documents.  She even called family members with the same message.  Having been served before, I knew she was just a debt collector because process servers don't call to let you know they're coming or to make offers over the phone lol.  But to avoid more calls to family, I picked up the next morning and she said she would be coming yesterday between 3-5pm and I said quickly "I'LL BE HOME!" and she quickly tried to say something but I hung up.  She never came obviously lol.  They did this same thing back in February.  Don't be alarmed people.  If you took out a payday loan and don't pay it back it's most likely that.  I had one from 6 years ago.

Just remember the statute of limitations is generally 4 years in most states from when they can sue you anyway!  Tell them to shove it or bring the papers.  If you're really worried, check your county court (civil) and search your name.  Any legal filings against you will come up even if you haven't been served yet.  Remember, process servers only serve papers, they don't negotiate settlements with the creditor!  They're paid a small amount of money only to give you your documents.  That's it!  If they say anything otherwise, it's a scam or someone trying to collect on a debt and you shouldn't say a word to them.

I just received this identical message, Anthony adams phone was off did this turn out to.be legitimate? I have no idea what this would be for and their calling me my married name from like 2013 which has not been my name in a very long time, my question is was this a scam ?

The fake process server/location finder extortion attempt usually consists of the following:

They mention that they have received a Fax document or some sort of complaint and that there is a pending legal matter or action about to filed against you to create the sense of urgency.  They tell you that they are a “process server” and cannot give you the particulars of the case since the file is sealed. This is simply ruse to get you to call another number (often with a made-up case number) where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer).  They threaten to serve you at home or at work.  They tell you that if they serve you at work then they will need a supervisor, security, or HR person there as a witness, hoping that will cause you to panic over the alleged embarrassment of being served at work.  They also tell you that you will need two forms of ID.  None of which is true.  Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them.  Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.  They certainly are not going to pass up a paycheck by telling you that you can avoid being served, they are not going to give you an extra day or even a few hours to get a “stop order”.  Court documents are time sensitive and must be served within a certain amount of time.  Remember that you can always call the local courthouse to see if there really is a lawsuit that has been filed against you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.

The Statute of Limitations is anywhere from 3 years to 15 years.  Making generalizations does not help anyone.  When looking at the following charts I see only one state out of 50 that has a 4 year SOL on written contracts.
