This company, A Marketing Resource, calls continually despite repeated requests to not call. They represent newspapers nationwide and the caller ID reads, "Local News." In my case, they represent the Arizona Republic. I've told them to stop; left a message on their voicemail; emailed the Arizona Republic; filed a complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry; and still the calls continue. The owner's name is Ed Spagnola, espangola@amr-advantage.com, and the company is based out of St. Paul, MN.

You people are IDIOTS!!! Why do you whine and complain, hoping someone will do something. Why don't you pull you head out of your azz. Register your phone number with the US Government's www.donotcall.gov website. Then, when they call, you can go back to that website and file a quick 30 second complaint against these law violators like I did. You can also call and file a quick complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office at 1-800-657-3787

I get calls in the morning and evening, when I answer no one there...I beleive it is the AZ Republic calling - I cancelled the paper last week.  I called the number back leaving a message to stop calling, but I got another call.

I have been getting these calls since January. I answer the phone and there is no one there it just hangs up. It is annoying cause I think it is a scam at first just trying to charge minutes since they call 10 times a day. It just needs to stop already. I will try emailing that person too.

FYI, I did get off my @$& and call the do not call registry before the deadline.

I used to get calls from 6024441000. They called 2-3 time a day. One around 10a.m. Then at 630p.m. And another about an hour later. Once I got my name and number taken off from that number I started getting callr from 6512882874. Come to find out they are the rame people. At what point does HARASSMENT kick in. Is the Arizona republic realy hurting that much. I wish they would just stop calling. If I wanted the paper I would get it myself.

Thanks for your post.  I just canceled my AZ republic and the calls started today. That means the paper is selling our information.

This party has been calling at least twice a day. My answering machine message always start with "...so please stay on the line..." so it's obviously a robocall that starts talking as soon as the machine picked it up. A few seconds later someone comes in and starts with "Hiiiii.....is (my name) in?" I recently let my Conde Nast Travel subscription lapse because I've been unemployed for over a year and I just don't have the money to read magazines, let alone travel. Based on the earlier comments, it must be them.

I'm getting 3-4 calls a day. no idea why. if anyone can get it to stop please post!!!

I received four phone calls from this number yesterday, and was finally around to catch the last time they called only to have them hang up immediately. Then they called again this morning and the same thing. I won't be hearing from them again, however, as I have blocked their number from calling me again. Thank-you Google Voice.

Still getting calls from them 3 times a day. Already signed up with Do Not Call List in 2007, already file a complaint and left message.

Previous pages of this blog show how and who to contact to complain about this call. It's illegal for this company to operate the way they are. File a report on the DNC and also with the MN Attorney Genera (info found on previous postings).  There's MULTIPLE #'s this company is using.  I'm tired of them calling me over 3 times a day. Jerks.

I keep getting the calls to they call all day long and it is getting on my nervers and I try calling back and goes straight to voice mail and they say we will have someone to call you back but when they do they call then hang up. Is ther any thing I can do about this??? The only other thing I can think of is changing my number!!

When I finally picked up the phone from the "local news" caller, the gal said they were calling on behalf of the Seattle Times.   We have a current subscription with them, so I called the Seattle Times customer service.

They rep at the The Seattle Times said that they did indeed have this A Marketing Resource calling on their behalf!   He said we could have our number taken off the list, but it would take seven days.

So if you are in the Seattle area and have/or ever had a subscription to the Seattle Times,  you can call 1-800-542-0820 and have your number removed from the list.  Please make sure to let them know how unhappy you are with them for hiring this annoying A Marketing Resource firm.

I received a call from this number, caller ID said "local news." I did not answer, as I only answer my phone if it's someone I know. They did not leave a message.

I am also getting these calls, and have been for over two weeks.  Is there any way to stop them?

NUMEROUS calls from this number after cancelling AZ Republic. Finally got someone on the other end and told them that the calls from them alone will make sure I NEVER subscribe to or buy the AZ Republic again. Gentleman told me he would put my number on their "Do Not Call List". We'll see.

I recently cancelled a subscription with PIONEER PRESS newspaper, upon cancellation I began receiving a call every couple of hours from the same number on my cell phone.  

I contacted Verizon and they have blocked the number at no charge for me.  This service will last for 3 months, if the calls begin again after that Verizon indicated I can call them back and have the number added again.

Just cancelled with Arizona Republic a few days ago and we've had numerous calls already.  Only call where I got a live person to respond wanted to speak with my wife who wasn't home at the time. The subscription had been in her name so sure that's why.
