Got the call on my cell at 3:00pm EDT, 1May2011 coming from North Dakota. Claimed to be a Indiana Credit Union calling about a missing credit card that I reported and to press 1.  My cell number is on the Do Not Call list. I don't have an account with that credit union. I don't have any credit cards. I just hung up.  I checked on the number. It is registered as a cell phone out of Minot, North Dakota.  Obviously a scam. If I knew what company it was registered with, I would call and report it to them and file a complaint. People like that should be prosecuted and not allowed to even own a phone.

Got a call from this number at 8:53PM EST last night.  Claimed to be 5/3 Bank and that my debit card had been locked and that if I wanted to reactivate it, I should press 1 to get to the security department.  I hung up.

I don't have an account with 5/3.  I called 5/3 today and asked if either my name or my cell phone number was on file with their bank and they said it was not.

I reported the call to the FTC at 1-877-438-4338 to file a complaint.  This is definitely a scam and I would try to report it.

807-509-8703  Recorded message from this number stating they were calling from 5th/3rd Bank (my bank).   I knew by the number that it wasnt.  It said to press one for the security department.  1st time I asked who the he**  was calling me... the second time I just hung up.  Who do you contact to disconnect these scumbag people trying to get information?  I might just try my local news people.  You ask call type below?.....  Theives thats who obviously theives that are trying to get bank information.  Someone needs to stop them.  I am pretty certain that even if I tell my 80 year old grandmother not to say anything to people, she would forget and trust that if they say they are from her bank that they are.  This needs to stop.

    Vacation Scam
Received a call from this number today, about an entry into a Vacation package that i signed up for, somehow they know exactly where i have been or look at going, since they offered a vacation to all the places that i would or have been looking to go too.  Wanted $250 for this OUTSTANDING vacation of 4 days here and they would throw in a 4 day cruise also...then when i wouldnt bite, offered a $100 gift card for me to do it now......And to top it all off they knew where i was away from my home, which is what gave it up, since i never said i was somewhere other than my home.  Called it back and got a recording that all circuits were busy.

Caller claimed to be from a window company in Madison, WI.  Caller ID showed it as a North Dakota call.  What ever happened to the No-Call list?  What a joke!

Called me today.  Guy said he was from "card services".  When I asked him "which card?"  He said "you're an ass." And hung up.  Joke's on you, scam artist.

I got a call from this number on April 30th and a recording came on the line when I answered.  It said that my Master Card had fraudulent activity and to press 1 to talk to the security people.  Well, I hung up because I do not have a Master Card.

YEP!  The same thing happened to me TWICE.  The first time was April 10th.  An automated message said Your HSBC Account has been Locked.  Press 1 to unlock the card (or something to that effect).  I dont have HSBC anything!  The caller ID on my CELL phone said 600.

The first time I just pressed 1 just to see and nothing happened.  This time I paid close attention.  just waited then the line go disconnected.  WTF!??  Who IS that and How are they getting people's cell phone #s???  Soo effing annoying and frustrating!
i was actually very worried about my friggin credit thinking maybe someone was trying to OPEn an HSBC account in my name.  I put a lock on my credit when it happened the 1st time, now I said let me google this message.  Thank goodness for you guys posting. Now I know what it is and can slightly relax!  Whew. but still upset.

Same thing - got a call at 9:51 last night - my phone NEVER rings after 9:00 PM and scared the living daylights out of me.  When I saw it  was a # I didn't recognize (very few people even have my phone number which was another freaky factor!) I didn't answer.

    BUT.

I was telling my mom today and she got a call around the same time last night and she did pick up fearing someone in the family in another state was in trouble or something and she got that recording about a credit card - same thing you all are saying here. Then she went on to say she's gotten that call before.

As I said, I've given my # to very, VERY few people - mostly family. But on Tuesday I gave it to Bank of America, who is also my mortgage lender. I've had this # for 19 months and never had so much as one prank call before. "Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm...."

I got this call and did not recognize the number and did not answer.  It apparently is sourced from Bismark ND.  I am on the no call list so this kind of call bugs me.  It it is relevant, I will get a VM I guess...

I think they are getting phone info from your computers.  If you have contacts they might be calling people you know.

I just started to download a file from Vuze and got a call later.

It is NOT an investigator.  It is a scam.  They claim to be from HSBC bank and say my card has been deactivated and I should press "1" to reactivate it.  I'm sure that would have connected me to someone who wanted my social security number.  Good scam if I had EVER done business with HSBC, I might have been fooled.
