You are given the option to speak with someone. So I will press the 1 key. When I talk to them I have asked them to stop. They just hang up on you. One other time I was very nasty and made up a fake name and phone number and called her a [***].

- jojo3086 replies to David| 11 repliesIn the last week I have recieved two phone calls from 701-509-8709 with a recording stating that they could lower my Master Card interest rate. I was given the option both times to press 1 to speak to someone.
I pressed 1 both times. THe first call I explained that I do not owe anything on a credit card and to remove my name from their list. The person said it would be removed.
However I got the same call today and when I pressed 1 to speak to some one and explained that I don't have any credit cards to lower the interest on she slammed the phone down. - mb in DetroitJust got robocall from Rachel in credit card services. scam call.

- Hans SchmittI got a call on my cell at about 4:15 am today. 6/21/11. I didn't answer as I knew no one at that area code. I don't have any credit problems and I don't give out my cell #. I do recall a few months ago I was getting a lot of calls from HSBC on my Vonage land line. That's not published either. As a rule, I don't answer unless it's someone I know and want to talk to.

- waderFemale computer voice left a message on my cellular number and claimed that I had a Mastercard debit card, which was now blocked - it directed me to press "1" for unblocking, etc. Besides the fact that this situation doesn't pertain to me, no bank has my cellular phone number.
Looking up who I should report this to for further investigation/action by a governmental agency.- Caller: Unknown
- Priscilla KinterI get called CONSTANTLY - 4-5 times per week, sometimes daily. The call starts out a recorded warning that this is my last notification of this offer to help me deal with my credit card debt and interest rates, and then prompts me to press a number (sometimes 1, sometimes 9) to be connected to an operator. I've tried answering these calls from time to time, to get someone to put me on the do-not-call list, but the telemarketers are instructed to hang-up on a caller, mid-sentence, if you say ANYTHING that suggests you don't want their credit-card service. This time I tried to start out by saying that I maintain a zero balance on my credit card and before I could finish *that* sentence, the sleaze-ball woman on the other end hung up on me. It's getting to the point where I HATE these people.
- Caller: They don't give a company name.

- PriscillaI've already left a comment, but should have included this: https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
That's the page on the FTC's site where you can file a complaint against a phone number. They ask what number called you, if there's a company name, what number received the call and when, and then you can leave details of the call in a text/message box just like this one. It's super easy, and worthwhile if it gets these annoying, slimy, sleazy creeps in trouble.
