Halifax here, too. Almost daily calls; shows up on voicemail, too, but no message.

Would looove to get a live person on the other end to interrogate 'em.

It was an automated call offering to help me obtain part of $40 billion in government grants. A grant is presumed to be "free money." Of course, governments expect something to be returned for the grant investment and there are consequences for failing to deliver.  The message asks me to push 1 to speak to an agent. push 2 to be taken off the list. I pushed 1 and was shunted to another automated message asking me to leave my name and number. I hung up. Caller ID is "Savings Center." This is scam. With a little effort anyone can search government on-line listings for RFP's and grant offerings -- federal government, state-by-state, and local municipalities. No doubt there is a fee for either finding "grants" or filing out paperwork. While a "newbee" could certainly benefit from doing all the paperwork necessary to apply, organizations such as "SCORE" can also help. Hardly any applicant gets to the point of consideration the first few times it applies because the applicant lacks the underlying qualifications. The grants I participate in have a very low acceptance to application rate. Bottom line odds, metaphorically: of getting a government grant through the efforts of companies such as this is about the same as hitting the lotto jackpot or being struck by lightening.

I'm in Halifax Canada too. We should find a way to stop this harrassment.
Remember when we put our names on the government " do not call list" , and some bo-hunk employee sold our names to these pests? I do feel sorry for the people that work in these places.
The whole thing should be banned.... let's get some productivity going in this country.....

Just got a call from 701-625-5003 and it was a very funny ringtone.  They did not leave a message either.  I have call display and I did not answer the phone because I had NO idea where this call was coming from, I live in Toronto, Canada.

Some credit card debt company -- they did leave a voicemail

"You're not alone -- here in Canada, credit card companies are accepting reduced settlements from people just like you. We would be happy to talk to you about your situation.  If you'd like to be removed from our list, then please Press 2 now. But if you are struggling with any type of unsecured debt, and you'd like to find out more about getting completely debt-free, then press 1 now to be connected to a counselor. Press 1 now to be connected."

Here in Canada -- yeah right, considering that they are calling from a North Dakota area code.  I don't think so.

They never state what the company name is.  Even if you call back to be removed, they don't state what the company name is.  If you do a reverse lookup on the number, it comes up as a phone in Martin, North Dakota.

Just received a call.  I'm in SK, Canada.  Didn't answer- no message left.

I've received 3 calls from this number.  Before this it was another number but the same recording asking me if I was tired of credit card callers or something like that.  I'm in Ontario Canada. I'm sick of this crap.  They are wasting my minutes when they call and I pick up!  North Dakota!  I have a friend there!  It could have been him so I answered.  UGH.

I didnt pick it up, no message left. I'm in Eastern Ontario. Figured it was a scammer.

Must be annoy Atlantic Canada week - I'm in Nova Scotia and found a call from this number in my directory when I got home. No message.

Message indicates credit card relief (idenitical to the KrustytheClown comments).  Rather then hang up, I opted to speak with a representative who identified themselves as "Consumer Debt Advocacy".  
They are calling my cell phone in Ottawa, Canada and have been calling every two days for the past couple of weeks.  At least I was able to tell someone where the f... to go! :)

They just called me ... I picked up but only silence on the other end.   No message, no person, nothing.

I got a call from the same number................Now I blocked them

I live in Toronto and don't know anyone from this area code.   Didn't bother answering and no message was left on our machines.  Assumed this was another scammer.

This number called.  It was a machine telemarketer selling some junk.  I hung up, called it back and pressed 1 to get my number taken off their call list.  I don't need a wood chipper.

They're widening their reach:  I'm in North Suburban Chicago.  Does ANYBODY answer these calls?  Me, either.

They start out with a recording stating "tired of harassing phone calls from creditors" or something like that. Then they tell u to press 2 if u want to be removed from there calling list. When u press 2 it disconnects you without even a confirmation that they are removing your number. My bigger concern is what is the good of the "do not call list" if they just find ways around it????
