They are calling my number again today.  It says Evo Security on the caller ID. These annoying calls have been so frequent lately that I had to change the 4 batteries in my caller ID again this morning.  I replaced them less than a month ago but it had faded so as to be unreadable this morning.

Called my cell which I did not answer because I did not know the number calling me.  They left no message so it won't cost me any money.  I added their number to my phone book as 'Spam' which I have set to no ring so that if they call again, I will not hear my cell ring.  I am just glad that they left no message and did not stay on to even leave dead air that would cost me to retrieve the message to delete it and that they did not text me which would also run up my cell phone bill.

I have greatly reduced the number of calls to my cell phones by going to my carriers website (Verizon) and they allow me to block up to 5 numbers for 90 days. Since these scum change numbers every 30 I have had a very peaceful time. Call me once shame on you, call me twice shame on me. I also put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they won't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). This is only a whack-a-mole solution however it is the only one I can offer.
The criminals behind this operation aren't going to pay attention to you asking to be removed from their list. Their calls cost them nothing and they can make a million of them a day so they have no intention of ever removing someone. When you press a key to talk to them all that is accomplished is to verify that they have a working number.
If you want to stop these calls then you need to dry up their revenue source. Your phone company is charging you a fee for caller ID. Your phone company pays the scammer for sending their caller ID information. Your phone company pays only a fraction of a cent per call and you pay $5 to $15 to your phone company. The scammers send out millions of calls per day which amounts to a significant amount of money however your phone company is charging a large amount to millions of customers. This may have something to do with the phone companies inability to stop these calls. You can also see why the criminals keep calling even though they know you won't fall for their scam. If someone does make the mistake of answering the phone and falling for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
In order to stop this we need legislation making it illegal to charge for caller ID. If a phone service wishes to operate it would need to provide the caller ID at no charge to other phone providers and to it's customers as part of the service. Here is the $50,000 solution that the FCC is looking for and it doesn't cost anything.
Civil action by the FTC against such criminals is totally ineffective. These criminals need to be charged with Federal Felonies and subjected to significant jail time. All of those involved know that they are violating FTC regulations. The FTC levies huge fines, then rescinds them based on inability to pay. The FTC settles for the minimal cash on hand, and enjoins them from future telemarketing. The criminals sign off, then go right back to business as usual. These same people under different companies have been sued in the past and have only paid a minimal fine. The government needs to go after them using the RICO act. That will be the only effective means of dealing with this.

I just got a call and when i asked the creap why he was calling me he said because i was a C*nt...  i did report them to the FCC

This is strange, some people are saying it is Evo Security and even though I am hard of hearing I did hear them mention credit card several times... Are the idiots now sharing telephones?

Jacka*s wanted me to press 1.  DON'T DO IT. It will be used by them to "prove" your business association.
Anyway, the jacka*s wanted me to press 1.  I told me I couldn't, only have a rotary dial phone.
He next asked how much debt I had.  My response: "a lot"
His response: he hung up on me.
Oh, by the way, I've been on the DNC list since the beginning, and updated last year on the off-chance my number fell out of the system.
DNC list sure works well, doesn't it???!!!!!!!!

NOTE WELL: it is illegal to not immediately provide correct caller company name, and caller company phone number. Illegal to misrepresent either name or number.  Also illegal to call you if you are on DNC list.

Called my cell phone and I didn't answer. Left no message. My cell is on the Federal Do Not Call list, but some companies don't care anymore. It doesn't appear to help 1 bit when I report them.

That's not how this works. Calls are sent via a computer (robo dialing). Working phone numbers (those that answer, those that ring) are confirmed as valid. The poor souls who are on the other end of these spam calls have no control over whether you are taken off the list or not. I do not know whether if you subscribe you are taken off, but it is not up to the person on the other end of the call. Get your jollies off if you wish with abuse or games, but it will do you no good. Never answering and using a blocking scheme of some sort will have a better result.

This is from "Account Services". It's another one of those credit card scam phone calls that you should be reporting to the BBB. It's the same crank call as the 507-671-9224 number.

i called them back after the 5th time they have hung up on me when i asked to be removed, i was routed to a phone tree that says i will be removed from their list in 72 hours..we will see, try that and see if it works for you..

people, don't bother messing with these folks, its a scam, plain and simple, redirected caller id makes it read what they want it to read, not the real number in most cases.  they don't care if you threaten them, most are from out of the country, loud noises don't bother em, they use special headsets that block loud noises.  these people are breaking the laws in several ways and are quite happy to be just as rude as we are.  if you don't know a number and it comes from far outside your normal area code, don't answer, it's about the best you can do.

Called me on several different days; recording asks for  my number in order to be taken off their call list, which is supposed to take up to 72 hours...HA!  This is my 3rd or 4th go-round...I placed my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry...after 31 days we can make a complaint if calls are still being received by this same company...which claims to be able to 'reduce your credit card percentage fee'...

There are 2 parts to the "Rachel" scam - the revenue sharing which is what this post is about and the actual scam itself where the thieves steal the money from innocent people - which is what the whistles and wasting their time affects. We need both approaches. If you have the time and enjoy it then hey - it's cheap entertainment and keep it up. The main thing we have to know is that there is no silver bullet, no magic pill to end this. We need to get thousands of people involved in one approach or the other and we need CRIMINAL penalties against the criminals involved. We need the politicians to take this seriously and have the government pursue this under the RICO act. Pick your poison and get the word out. Let's bring an end to this.
