- fraudulent replies to Abid khanWhat makes this all scary is that you send an e-mail offering the possibility to get a job and in the body of the e-mail you request a social security number and other personal information.
And just because you have a website means absolutely nothing.
Anyone can create a website and use it for scams.... so my advice to you...if you want more customers.... stop asking for social security numbers on your e-mails. Here in America....is a big deal and usually leads to fraud. - Amazed| 2 replies
I've received this email and had conversation with the Sr Recruiter at Lancesoft Inc. I also was asked very odd questions in addition to the so called application below. Conversation was obviously wrong when SS number was asked, when I was told the position was for UPS. We all know UPS has its own application process. Please be very aware of these types of calls and NEVER ever give out your SS number over the phone or on line unless you personally meet with the recruiter at their office location.
This is the email I received:

- yeah right replies to C HardieSo they got you a "job" lying on the internet? And that's what you consider "awesome"?
LOL. Does your mom know you commit fraud for a living or did you trick her into an "awesome" opportunity too? - AnotherTargetSo i too received a call from this Rajesh character. For a job with UPS. He is what i discovered from this call:
1. When asking him to repeat himself a few times, I noticed he continuously said United Postal Service. When i asked if he meant United PARCEL Service as in the brown trucks, he changed the subject.
2. He was offering me a job as a supervisor, in a field i have less than 2 months experience in
3. The information he requested from me was not typical this early on in the process. I understand companies needing my social and name and DOB.. But never on the first call. And most of the time it would be done in person or on a secure site.. not through email.. why dont they have a place to sign everything on their site?
4. They only have a B rating on the BBB
5. I decided to ask him for further information.. once i asked him for a name and number of someone at UPS that i could speak to about the job opening, he said, "I dont have that information." When i asked him how he could offer me a job, for another company and not have contact info for anyone at that location he said, "Oh i am sorry sir, you seem to be breaking up." the call was then lost and he never called back.
I am NOT saying that lancsoft isnt a real company.. i dont know that for fact.. but i will say that the call I received was extremely "phishy" and uncomfortable. was NOT professional. And WHY would i have to send them my info and resume when they clearly saw my resume on the job hunting website i posted it too?
P.S. i used to work for Verizon... not sure about the whole country, but around here they only use Adecco for temp agency hiring. Also, they handle a lot of the hiring procedure themselves.. they have a HUGE HR recruiting team nation wide that i have many friends involved in.
Good luck to everyone on their job hunt!- Caller: Lancesoft for UPS
- but...... replies to Shriraji can agree that the SSN will differentiate us from each other. However, when applying for jobs, MOST COMPANIES, start with an application. that Application does NOT have or need our SSN. then they discuss and interview for the position. Once they have decided that they like you and wish to move to the next step, they ask for a POST OFFER application be filled out to do a background check. then and only then do they ask for your SSN. this is after you have met with the ACTUAL company you will work for, and have gone through the interview process.
No amount of BS you say can make it reasonable to ask for a SSN so early in the process. if you need so bad to separate us in the system, ASSIGN us ID numbers.. dont ask for OUR SSNs. - 2smart2bescammed replies to terdona| 2 repliesI totally agree with you and Renato. I know too many people who have been victims of identity theft. There is no way that I'm giving all of that personal information to someone through an email who claims he found me on Monster. I totally understand that the larger companies hire foreigners for cheap wages; I used to work at IBM and it always ticked me off that we couldn't get technical support without having to strain our ears and brains to understand what was being said by someone in India....and I digress. However, the email I just received is so pathetic that a third grader could've written it better. At least if the employers aren't going to invest money in speech classes, they could at least make sure that the written communication is acceptable. There are so many errors in this email that I immediately thought "no reputable company would have this person as their recruiter". If this is an actual job offer, I'm willing to forego this one. This is going straight to spam. Better safe than sorry!
- 2smart2bescammed replies to ShrirajShrirah, you're full of BS. You must be one of these scammers that go phishing in people's emails, and you're upset because the folks in this forum are too wise to fall for shenanigans.
Bottom line, I've worked for three Fortune 500 companies, and NONE of them asked for my SSN initially. That's the purpose of applications and the like. If LanceSoft was serious, they'd recommend that a candidate fill out an application. - A.B.Received about a dozen phone calls from a recruiter from LanceSoft Inc offering me a job opportunity. The guy pretends he never called me before which he has for the same job detail and description, asking the same questions repeatedly. He has said he will send me an email confirming everything he described to me. When I asked him that he didn't send me a email, he became rude and I hung up the phone only to call me back repeatedly after that, using up 1 Hour of my voicemail space just today alone. I have since blocked his number. The phone number he called me from 703-889-6849 ports to a call center in India.

- anonymous replies to cbakerks| 1 replyI just got an email from they with the same line only 3 months plus, a woman named Ruchi. I checked the number, better business bureau, their website, AND UPS to see if the position was available in my area. There was no position available for an admin asst I. I don't want to believe they are being dishonest but my gut says no one asks for ssn's over the phone and they certainly don't ask for it over the internet. So I sent her an email letting her know I checked all these resources and did not feel it was appropriate or professional to ask for sensitive material.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!! THEY OFFERE ME A POSITION WITH CAREPLUS/HUMANA. I CALLED CAREPLUS/HUMANA SPOKE TO HUMAN RESOURCES AND THEY DONT USE LANCESOFT AS A STAFFING AGENCY THEY USE ANOTHER AGENCY ADECCO. PLEASE BE CAREFUL!! THERE ASKING FOR SS# AND PERSONAL INFORMATION...INDIAN PEOPLE....BECAREFUL- Caller: LANCESOFT
- ULANCESOFT IS A SCAM!!!!
- Caller: LANCESOFT
- AndieBScammers for sure... Ruchi called asking for personal information. After having received the same canned email as others have received. I refused to provide my SSN and asked why can they not create a unique identifier using any other numbers, she stammered. I said I only give this information out when I have the job offer, not before. She then said, she understand my not being comfortable, and she cannot submit my resume. Said she had other candidates to submit. If a recruiter / staffing agency gives up on a potential candidate that they deem is an "excellent fit" for the job because they refuse to provide confidential information ie., SSN, date of birth, etc, then they are Scam Artists - big time! Beware!!!

- Pharaoh replies to hmbNo they're ignorant not for questioning the company, but to automatically assume its a scam because of the callers nationality or because, "They barely spoke English" as the person put it.
- Ashutosh replies to KIM| 2 repliesFor your information Adecco is MSP not Staffing agency , I hope you will get you answer, if you will search about MSP and VMS model you will come to know how its work . Thanks .
- Ashutosh| 3 repliesI would like to thanks Lance-soft Recruiter effort and there Work , They are not only helping in placing candidate with different clients, however most of recruiter are quite professional with right attitude in providing guidance to get placed at right organizations , I am aware about SS# and DOB requirements for various client requirement to proceed with applicant , i know personally many people, been placed/Hired through this company , they are almost placing more than 100 people every month to most of fortune 500 clients . Thanks
- anon replies to AshutoshShe's already come to know it's a scam. Thanks for playing.
- anon replies to AshutoshNo, you're obviously one of the scammers.
- Akasa replies to anonymousI have also just received an email from a woman named Ruchi. She called a few minutes later and offered me a position with UPS also but when I had mentioned that I had sent my resume previously to someone with the exact same job description and details, she quickly got off the phone.
- GingerI got a lengthy job description from LanceSoft Inc. today for an Admin position at UPS. They wanted DOB, social, you name it. Told her I was not giving my social over the phone or internet. She even wanted copies of my transcript or diploma. So I called their headquarters, a man stating he was in HR stated that was standard procedure and of course he was from India too. Why would someone from HR answer the phone from their headquarters. Wouldn't you think a receptionist would answer their main number? The rep that called was from India, I couldn't understand most of what she was saying. Hey if it doesn't feel right don't do it, too much identity theft these days.
