Yes, I got the same email today from Monica.  I told her she wasn't getting my social and she more or less said she wasn't submitting my resume without it.

I received several emails and calls from LanceSoft regarding job opportunities, I did not give them my SSN and I am glad I didn't as they are a scam.

I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER STATING THEIR NAME WAS DEEPALI WANKHEDE FROM THE LANCESOFT AGENCY LOCATED IN VIRGINIA FOR UPS DHL ETC ETC. TOLD ME THEY SAW MY RESUME ON CAREER BUILDER AND WANTED TO SET ME UP FOR AN INTERVIEW, AT THE END ASKED ME FOR MY SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. ASKED ME TO SEND IT THROUGH EMAIL OR TO TELL HER THROUGH THE PHONE. I REPLIED I WASNT GOING TO SEND IT THROUGH EMAIL NOR WAS I GOING TO TELL HER OVER THE PHONE, THAT I WOULD GIVE IT TO THE PERSON I GET INTERVIEWED WITH THROUGH THE PHONE

I get regular calls and email from these people. In fact they just called and this is when I decided to look up the number. I'm always surprised they send me the listings because I never feel I'm qualified for the job. I'm glad I've read all of the postings.
I do want to point out that if you choose to report this the FBI I'm sure they'll be grateful for the info and is probably already aware of it but there is Nothing they can do about it. Because the calls are coming from a different country. They don't govern India in other words they don't have jurisdiction hence why it's contiueing to happen. If calls coming on cell then block the number.

I got the same call from Ruchi.  I complied with all the BS, and I am now working for UPS. Sure, they eff up the English badly, one guy was so bad I refused to speak with him, but if you jump through the BS hoops, they can and will place you.  Pretty much all the Indian contingency recruiters are the same.  Stupid ass questions,  same scripts on calls, multiple calls about the same job, but I can't argue with my paycheck.

Ignorant? Total opposite. I've registered with numerous headhunters that do not require a SS number until hired. Landsoft requires this info to make a file? Create your own damn number system

Whatever. Like I've said before regarding companies asking for social security numbers - "create your OWN number system".

My grandmother can create a fake website, too. I feel sorry for the ignorant desperate people you hook daily. KARMA

I too have received a call. I have held executive level positions and at no point was a social security number ever requested by anyone in the interview process. I was also asked for my D.O.B. which as most of you know is never required for an interview. This company Lancesoft states they represent other staffing agencies like Randstad and Manpower. Something tells me that even the US organizations such as Randstad and Manpower would know that this type of information is not only not necessary for an interview, but some questions are actually illegal to ask for an interview.

So can someone please explain to me how this behavior is normal or how this company is operating legally within the US by asking candidates to provide this information.

You do realize that it is illegal to ask for that information up front, for any type of interview? They are breaking so many EEOC rules it is not even funny. How can a staffing company not know that what they are asking is illegal and breaking rules?

I got a call and about did not call back,  but no the guy who called me NEVER asked for personal info. He was very hard to understand, but seemed legit,  but found the email in my spam box,  ???
When I went back and read the job offer it is for a 6 month position. Think it is legit, but I do not want to get a small contract job even if the pay seems okay.

I received two rude emails from the so-called "recruiter" and wouldn't do business with them even if I was looking for a job. I told him I called the company and stated that they did not use lancesoft to hire people. This was the few emalis that followed (Mr Bisht cannot use spell check on outlook either):

I don't know where you got my name but I work full time permanent with full benefits. I am not even looking for a job. Do not threaten me.

I wouldn't use a third party for jobs because most people need benefits (health ins) and third parties do not provide that AND take a percentage of salary.

2nd It was not mentioned anywhere on your resume that you are not looking for a job and being a recruiter i saw your resume and sent e-mail to you with the available job opportunity.

As a recruiter for US companies, I would think they would use a hiring agency whose roots are actually in the United States and not India. That's FRAUD that you state you are located in VA and your company address states VIRGINIA which you are not located in. You are in India. Plain and simple.
