I got this call at 1:58 PM today in Milan Mi. The reason it bothered me was, I had an aunt die in Faifax Va Dec 1st. I have lots of family down there, even though I'm in Michigan. When I heard "George Bush" on the answering machine I thought "What is this?" I have a cousin in the FBI, so, I thought it was maybe him. Before I called family memnbers I decided to Google "L Hinton". Jeez! I wasn't expecting this.

Live in Michigan and received a message regarding a "political survey". After reading above comments I immediately called the number back. Surprise surprise! The number had been disconnected. I thought, typical cowardly republican act. Does anybody have a remedy for similar calls. The technology behind such calls should be a violation of some FCC law?

I got a call from this number too (Western UP of Michigan).

Got same message as George Bush leaving a message but no number. Assume it is tied to the Michigan Primary on Tuesday 15 Jan 08.

I live in Milan MI, just received a call with the same ID, just as others have. Went to the machine, said something about GW as well.

I have to say, this annoys me that the FCC can allow political calls to go out from unregistered numbers.  There should be a provision that if it's a political telephone call, it must be registered as a real number with a truthful organization name, so we know who it's coming from.  It also burns me that we can't 'opt out' of these recorded messages.  If you get a call from a candidate or party with a real person on the other end, you can ask to be put on their do not call list - but you can't do that with recorded messages, and if they don't answer their phones, you can't ask to be removed. Makes a mockery of the 'Do Not Call' list.

I just called Optimos Inc and spoke to someone in the IT Department. He feigned ignorance. Which is understandable given the size of the company. I do encourage everyone reading this note to call Optimos (703) 488-6900 and ask for Mr.L. Hinton

Called three days in a roll. When I picked the phone up, there was no sound at all.

I didn't answer.  It is a deceptive political practice called "push polling".  If they're asking about a Republican, you can bet it was paid for by Democratic campaign funds.

From MI. Am I happy with George Bush the automated voice asks after I pick up the phone? I laughed so hard, I just hung up the phone. I thought maybe it was his Dad calling.

Has gotten away with this so far, but McCain's SC Campaign director is also that state's Attorney General.

I live in MI and the primary is next week..I too got a couple of calls yesterday from this number.  I wasn't home when they called.  THey let no message.

i've been getting calls from this number for the past week. I live in MIchigan and I never picked up, but the caller id says L Hinton...i looked it up online and it turns out this number is from fairfax, VA

Yep, I'm in Michigan and saw the call yesterday from L. Hinton.  Went to Swithboard.com and saw the leafcrest lane address in virginia.  Googled it and found this webpage.  After reading these posts, I'm not going to bother calling back and I won't bother answering the call.

i got this call many times, days in a row, several times a day. i called it back and it said a recording about common sense michigan.org

They called my house the other night at 9pm. I get up at 3am. I raced to the phone thinking someone was hurt. Hung up on anger as I hear the words "This will be a ... survery".
When they called last night around 6 I let the answering machine get it. The darn thing kept beeping after "....favorable of George W. Bush....we will call back later...." line was finished. I had to stop what I was doing and go turn off the machine so the phone would hang up.
Today's call was about an hour ago. I wish they would get the clue and stop dialing my number.

I live in Michigan and also received two calls from this number yesterday and another one about 10 minutes ago. There is never a response and as the rest of the population who has received calls from this number, when dialed back, the recording simply states that the number has been disconnected. I find this irritating, rude but effective. So effective that it eliminated one political candidate for consideration.........
