I am getting 3-4 of these calls a dayfor the past two weeks now. I tried calling back but said the number was disconnected. They do leave a message when my machine picks up stating that it's a political survey and that they will call back. I got tired of having them call back so I answered the last time. Next time they call and I'm sure they will, I will be writing down the number they spout at the end of the recording and see if that number is also disconnected

I as well have been receiving these same annoying calls. I do not answer any calls that I do not recognize. If you answer they continue to call except for this number. They keep calling day after day. I would love to know what can be done about these calls since I am also on the "do not call list".

I am also receiving the L. Hinton calls on my caller ID. Unfortunately political calls are exempt from the do not call list. I also live in MI and our primary is tomorrow. I have been a member of the GOP for years, and unfortunately have been unable to impress upon the campaigners that people hate these phone calls!

Third call in three days in Michigan

Got the same automated push-poll call last evening at 8:26p.m. in Reno, NV. Aside from bashing Republican candidates John McCain, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani, and propping up Mike Huckabee, the following ridiculously misleading and suggestive question about Democratic Senator Harry Reid: do you support Senator Reid's position in favor of pulling our troops immediately out of Iraq and handing the country over to Islamic terrorists? I reported the call to Sen. Reid's office, of course. I don't mind getting political pitches, even negative ones, as that's par for the course in a free and honest flow of ideas - but that call went FAR beyond that: it is an outlandish case of swiftboat tactics. I'm not even sure it is intended to really prop up Huckabee, as this absolutely contemptible campaign can only come back to haunt and bite him badly. I seriously hope that somewhere down the line a monumental and intimidatingly prohibitive fine is imposed on that "Common Sense Issues" outfit.

I have also received 2 calls from this number, I live in Reno, NV and the message started by saying" Do you have a favorable opinion of George W. Bush? Then he said I will call you back later,  When I tried to pick up I was disconneted.  The first call was Sunday night at 8:15 p.m. on Jan. 13.
We are also on a Do Not Call List, and are not happy receiving calls that late, as my husband has to get up at 4 a.m.  and because we both have elderly parents in another state we can't turn off the ringer of the phone.   How can we stop this?

I am in Las Vegas and have received two calls from this Virginia number in regard to the same survey others have mentioned.  Mark

I live in Northern Nevada...Our voting is this weekend.  I'm Independent...This is annoying and how it is allowed in unbeknownst to me as I too am on the do not call list.

This was the only time I've been here to answer the phone. The recorded message says something to the effect of voting responsibly and commonsense.org ???

The last three days however a message has been left on my machine stating, "this is a political survey and we may call back"!

Stop this invasion of privacy. Send an email to the FCC, the Attorney General, and the elected reps of your state.

I just got the SAME call an hour ago with the same message. That it has been disconnected.
HOW are these people using disconnected numbers?? I don't understand how they can get away with this.
These people are worse than telemarketers. They are NO different.
This number has called me 3 times this week. Next time I'll be sure to answer it.

Some guy answered and he seemed dumbfounded that I was questioning him about the 703-961-1077.

"Who is this, how did you get this number, etc"

He panicked.

Called the above # for commonsenseissues.org, got a voice mail to a Patrick Davis.  Didn't leave a message, got these same stupid calls all weekend.

Same as everyone else! Called-I didn't answer, caller ID says L. Hinton. Called the # back and it said it was disconnected. What kind of sh...t is this??? And why is the FCC allowing it?

I live in the Las Vegas area. The Caucus is this Saturday here.

I am getting these calls, too (I am in Las Vegas). I don't answer because I never answer numbers I don't recognize, but it does just say Virginia on the caller ID. I got curious today and looked it up on reverse lookup, then when I called it back it was disconnected. Strange.

Hinton L (703) 961-1077 has been ringing my phone off the hook too.  I also live in Michigan and am a dedicated Democrat.
