Fortunately you are incorrect in your understanding of the do not call list.  Luckily it operates exactly as you think it doesnt.  You put your phone number only once in the list and telemarketers must subscribe to the list and never call you if your name is on it.

Got our first one today ... I expect we'll get a string now.  Seems to take most robot dialers about 15+ days before the human masters wake up and notice that we are staying on the line 10 seconds, just enough to kick in a charge for a one minute call.  After about 10 days, most usually stop.  Be quiet as a mouse if you do this.  

As to surveys, a bona fide survey taker will usually identify who they are, what they are studying, who is sponsoring it, and even where they are located. Professional survey takers are trained to be polite in order to get participation.  Reading all the comments, this is probably a scam or some home brew survey by folks who aren't smart enough to figure out how to win participation.  Sorry, ain't gonna bite.

Didn't answer and they left no message.  Thank God for Caller ID. I never answer any call that does not identify themselves.  If it is someone that needs to talk to me and their name does not show up on my Caller ID, then they can leave a message.

Same experience as others, and I didn't pick up...no msg left.  I am emailing to dnc@datascension.com to request my # be removed from their survey list

Right on, Jon.  I'm with you and I could use a few other choice words to use about all of them!

This number A714-463-2940 Called this afternoon. I Do not answer any call that is not identified on caller ID. My machine picked up, but they didn't leave a message. Five mins. later they called back. They have been calling back in intervals of 5 min.,then 10 mins. then 15 etc. After the fourth call, it only rings twice. It is driving me crazy and my kids are doing homework. I turned off my ringer so i'm not getting my "real" calls now either. That is why i looked it up. Has anyone requested to be taken off and succeeded or is it a waste of time, only to give them an email to harass you with as well? I'm hesitant about that, since it seems like every time I go to a website like this i get more emails from advertisers.

Answered phone, heard loud noise in background, they said hello and then hung up. How Rude!!

Found 2 calls on my answering machine.  No message left. The next day I got a call asking me to take a survey.  I hung up.

Went to voicemail, no message.

They called me last night at 9:20pm and woke me up.  I thought that, by law, they could not call after 9pm.  BTW, it was a "hang up."
