Me too .I got this phone called too.

My caller ID showed a caller called when I was outside. There was no message.  Caller ID is worthless nowadays because there is an app where the caller can make up any name or number the caller wants to show on the caller ID.  Therefore, the number on your caller ID may not even exist.  I do not return these calls.

I changed the password on my Experian account and this number called to give me a verification number using the number on file so it is a legitimate call.

Do you often look up known phone numbers?

I signed up for KreditKarma and they needed to send me a verification code to open my account and it came from this number

Why would you look up a phone number when you already know who called you?

Mystified about the posts saying this is a valid call...have no pending accounts to verify and got this call.  If it's legit, why not leave a message??

I had two calls from this today, and they were verifying my accounts for Venmo.

Yet another poster that already knows who called yet looked up the phone number anyway.

You are confirming that no calls from this number should be trusted and that you are a lying scammer?

I'm sure Amy doesn't care to tell you her email company, as would nobody who has a brain because YOU might be a hacker/scammer. Amy is correct, it is a verification number for accounts that people have signed up for 2-step verification systems...some choose to do it via text instead of the longer time it takes to sign into an email account just to get a code! So, don't speak unless you're right!!

I logged into my experian account and this number calls me to provide a code to vetify that it is me logging in to my account. It is likely that if you're receiving calls, this holder of your phone number has not updated their account or they've listed their call code phone number incorrectly. I'd prefer a texted code via the phone call. I'll check my settings for the text feature.

Correct.  I had the same thing happen.  I thought they'd be calling my cell with the verification number.  When it didn't come through I kept pressing "send again."  Later in the evening, when I got home, I found three voicemails on my home phone with verification codes!  I guess I need to give Experian my cell phone instead...

I just went into my experian credit file account and this was the verification process that they used.  Totally legit call, but since I didn't know the number my cell automatically sent it to voicemail and I used the other verification methods to get into the account.

This was a verification call from one of the credit bureaus because they didn't recognize the computer I was logging in from.

The number of people that already know who called them yet still look up this phone number is astounding and makes no sense.
