Wouldn't trust anything you don't recognize on Christmas Day.  Seriously doubt that any reputable business would be trying to verify anything.  Silverado, if I read correctly, is in Orange County, CA.  At least, that is something you could have checked yourself.

Called my house twice on a Sunday morning at 5:45am & 5:46am, left a message saying "Your code is..." then gives a 4-digit code.  Probably someone entered the wrong phone number when verifying something, but makes me wonder if my online logins are attempting to be hacked.

AirBnB call-back authrization. It is a valid phone call as we just signed up to use AirBnB for a condo rental in the USA.

It's an air bnb verification thing now I recall Yup.

I received this call twice.   Each on Saturday night.  I didnt answer for the same reason many of you didn't.   Gave me a code.  I too did not call.  The next morning my cell phone didn't work.  When I called cell provider, they said my SIM card was taken out of my phone a tried to use in a phone that was on the black list or reported stolen.  I did not report stolen.  This has happened the last two Saturday.   I spent 2 hours both time at the prover of cell phone trying to figure out.   I did not do anything to the SIM card.

Microsoft accounting used this three times yesterday to give me a verification code that I had to type into their site to get access to my accounting info. Sounds like it is a line many companies use.

Needed code to unlock credit card. This number was the callback. No need to block number.

This is used by Citrix and other companies to send people a 4 digit security code, for secondary security, if they can't get via a text on their mobile phone.  They will say something like "Verify code is 1234"
