The funniest part is you're replying to a post from almost 4 years ago, expecting that person to see your comments. THAT'S hilarious.

Since you are a lawyer, maybe you should find out who really owns this phone number: 732-679-0059 and is claiming to be you, scamming people out of money and harassing others trying to scam money from them. Instead of going online acting like a child and commenting on a page people use to try and vet bad calls. The above number is a fraud. They called today but did not, for me, use your company information. So please before attacking the general public for there opinions, since they will just fight back, go after the source and find out who is actually committing the crimes. Be a lawyer and put them in jail.

    Hello Mr. O'Malley,
Our place of business has been receiving calls from someone named Peter DeSocio, claiming that he is with your law firm.  He is calling us from a mobile number at 732-679-0059.  He has made claimes against our place of business concerning a lawsuit against us from another local company.  Please be aware that I have made a formal complaint with the FTC with specific information about this person.

    Hello Sarah Bennett,
Do you really think that person will return after 4 years and see your comments?
Please be aware that this is a phone number look-up site, not a message board. If you have a complaint for Mr. O'Malley, maybe you should contact him directly.

Adding my research to this thread:

Weinstock & O'Malley and Amalgamated Credit Bureau (aka Amalgamated Finance Group) share the same address according to Google maps and the firm’s website: 105 White Oak Lane, Old Bridge NJ, 08857.

Looks like a guy named John Wieczerak (via opencorporates.com) owns Amalgamated. The three collector names I see in this thread are Peter DiScasscio, Spencer Glenn, and Jill McCarthy (via Zoominfo.com). Zoominfo also lists a Joe Trem.

    Hunter.io email search of amalgamated.com returned 4 emails: johnwieczerak@amalgamated.com, peterdee@amalgamated.com, jniven@amalgamated.com, and websales@amalgamated.com.

Peter DiScasscio looks like he may be related to John because a little Google-fu connected him to what appears to be a co-owner (via njparcels.com) who appears to be related to the Wieczeraks according to her social media.

Found a lawsuit with more information:
    King's Choice Neckwear, Inc. v. Fedex Corporation - https://casetext.com/case/kings-choice-neckwear and https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/5736693/ ... ex-corporation/

Interesting to note that a search of courtlistener.com for “Amalgamated Financial Group” and “Amalgamated Credit Bureau” only turned up one lawsuit that was not a bankruptcy.
A CourtListener search for “Weinstock O'Malley” was also unimpressive.

A pacer.gov search for “Amalgamated Credit Bureau” turned up two 2002 cases: Williams Comm LLC v. Amalgamated Credit and AMALGAMATED CREDIT v. WILLIAMS COMMUNICATI
The pacer.gov search for “Amalgamated Financial Group” was longer but didn’t amount to much. 11 cases between 1999 and 2018. A couple bankruptcies.

It’s true that alleged consumer debtors have a lot more rights than alleged business debtors.

Honest reviews on these companies’ Google map results, Yelp, etc. may have a deterrent effect. Also contacting your Attorney General in your state (they are in New Jersey) may help. Also, debt collection by an attorney in a state they are not licensed in may constitute the unauthorized practice of law. Contacting your state’s Bar Association and checking on their licensure and filing an Unauthorized Practice of Law complaint may have a deterrent effect, too. The bios on the law firm’s website only lists NJ as their licensing state. But it may just be easier to ignore them.

They should sue them and maybe if enough people do the same they will change their practices. Their tactics don't follow Fair Debt Collection Law.s.

These calls are from Amalgamated Financial Group, but they identify themselves as the "Law Offices of Weinstock & O'Malley."  They are a law firm in-house at Amalgamated. The "firm" exists for a single client, their owner, Amalgamated Financial Group. They use collection agents acting as "paralegals" who call and threaten people, pretending to be lawyers.  There is apparently an actual attorney of record, there, but they don't do a lot of legal action and aren't licensed in my state. They have been sued a few times, though, for their tactics. They called us trying to collect a debt that we simply didn't owe.  Plain, simple, and provable.

Any way, here is how it goes:  You will get calls from Amalgamated for a while, increasing in frequency with a corresponding increase in rudeness and threats. They then tell you you have a deadline or they will turn it over to their lawyers.  Then calls from "Weinstock & O'Malley" start happening from the 732 area code, just like Amalgamated.  Surprise, the "law firm" is in the same place as the collection agency...  So then they call and threaten you.  Just like Amalgamated, they will not provide any backup for their demands.  They just want you to pay them over the phone.  If, like us, the debt is invalid, they don't care.  They won't hear it and won't look at any evidence. They will keep calling and calling and calling for a long time.  Their tactics border on harassment and, for someone who owes nothing, it's particularly outrageous. These people are all talk.  They are following a rubric that apparently works to make people pay them by making them hit "breaking points" where a person who will pay them just to get them to stop calling, regardless of whether they owe the debt.  They've been doing it a long time.  In my case, they claimed I owed money to a particular company, who I called and verified I owed nothing.  I asked them who they represented and wouldn't tell me...only that they were calling about the "(insert company name here)" account...  So there is a third party there trying to collect this debt only they won't tell you who the other party is...  The company whose name they dropped knows nothing about it. Oh, the "paralegals" work on commission, just like Amalgamated's collection people.

So, to sum it up, these people call you, threaten you in an effort to get you to pay a debt that they won't tell you anything about and won't tell you who is asking for it.  They won't put anything in writing. AND, they won't talk to you if they know they're being recorded.  They threaten you with legal action from a law firm that doesn't have lawyers licensed in your state. They don't care if you can prove the debt isn't valid and won't hear it. This is a shake-down act. It is best to simply not answer, block the numbers, and just ignore them.  These people are the scum of the earth and you should not be intimidated by

Our company also received communication from: Jill McCarthy - Weinstock and O’Malley Law Firm, 105 White Oak Lane, Old Bridge, NJ 08857, Direct: 917-877-3890

They were requesting payment for a vendor we do business with, but they have no logo or letterhead in their invoice. When we requested supporting documents of anything that's owed, they just replied "we have sent that information" which they didn't. Also, the wording on the email is not what you might be used to with enterprise communication. Adding to that, their webpage is very suspicious (www.wonjlaw.com), just a landing page and a contact form, nothing more.
