Received a call today.  Caller ID says "Childrens Cancer".  No message left.

This number is from Children's Cancer Recovery Fund and they call every day, sometimes more than once.

Please stop calling.  I will not do business with scams.

Received call at 8:22am. Answered phone and waited few secs for agent to come online. Immediately told her they should not call at this hour of the morning. 2 people were still asleep in house. She went right into speech about fundraising no apology for hour of call. Hung up on them. I know fundraising companies can call even if your on the do not call list, but isn't there a time restriction?

A pleasant woman asked for my wife by her first name, but proceeded to speak with me in her absence.

The woman explained they are a charity for children with cancer and asked if they were to "...send an envelope, would I make a small donation?"

Maybe they are a charitable organization, maybe they are scammers. Judging by the variety of calls I see listed on this web page with the same "Vonage" Caller ID, I really don't trust anybody who dials me. I politely refused and she wished me a good day.

Not vonage, obviously a scam, as I have nothing to do with either place-- Beware!

I got a call from this number today, and the caller ID read Children's Cancer! Disgusting people, using this to fraud people.

The call comes in as Vonage the person said is was for a charity. I stated my number was private and to not call me again. She out shouted me and said it is legal for charities to call I firmly stated Do not call me and advised I would report the number.

This number appeared on our caller ID as Children's Cancer.  I can only imagine how bad this call would have been had I bothered to pick up.

Got a phone call from this number.  Caller ID said Children's Cancer.  A very pleasant sounding woman asked if I would be willing to make a small donation to the charity. Same as previous poster she asked if she could mail me an envelope for a donation.  Well, I had heard about fake nonprofit organizations that claim to be helping children with cancer.  So I told her I was unfamiliar with her organization and that I wanted more information about what her organization does to which she replied "ok thank you" and hung up.  This is a scam!!!!!!

just received a call from Vonage saying they were calling for the Childrens Cancer Recovery and wanted a donation, they wanted my credit card over the phone but I said no to send out the information, don't know whether this is a good or bad call...

Received a call before 8am.  "Children's cancer network" lady stated she was a professional marketer for this organization.  I informed her it was too early for these calls, she became obnoxious and went into a lecture.  

Do they actually think people will respond positively to this crap?

As happened to some previous posters, a woman with a pleasant phone demeanor asked for me by first name, explained that she represented a children's cancer organization, and wanted to know whether I'd send a donation back if they contacted me by mail.  I started out, "Not under any circumstances," and she accepted that to the point that I had little chance to explain why, which is simply that I refuse to respond to phone solicitations due to uncertainty about whether they're legitimate.  Previous posts here support my refusal, and the fact that seemingly unrelated callers have the same number show on Caller ID makes this all very suspicious.

Called and did not leave a message.

Got  a call from this number. Caller ID read Childrens Cancer. Did not answer.

Called again.

I answered in a foreign language that they probably would not recognize.  

She answered (in English) sorry, I took note of that.   Whether she meant that they would not call again, I don't know, I can only hope.

This IS a scam!  The call I got this morning says it was from the Children's Cancer Recovery Foundation (caller ID) If this was Vontage then I don't think I'd ever consider their company for services.  Just returned the call and they answered w/ Childrens Cancer Recovery Foundation NOT VONTAGE. Still could be a scam, Well I just went to the BBB site and turns out the Childrens Cancer Recovery Foundation is NOT listed with them as any type of business SPELLS SCAM FOR SURE
