- acip replies to acipSorry --- from the Philippines
- KayM| 1 replyI received a call from this number (didn't answer). I have Vonage on my home phone, but they called my work phone. I made the mistake of calling Vonage from my work phone a few months ago. Now I'm forever part of some list, apparently (culling the numbers that call you for potential customers - NICE, not).
I called this number back and got a voice mailbox after 3 rings. It was a New York/Brooklyn type accent saying, "Hi, we can't take your call but please leave a message after the beep and we'll call you back" (not exact wording).
I'm sure it's related to Vonage... they need to fess up on what the he!! they are doing. - HeatherI am in the Army and I am getting calls from this number at my desk at work and on top of that you can hear people talking in the back ground and music
- maryland| 1 replyI have been a vonage customer for 1.5 years. Just called them from my work phone last week...and suddenly I get hang-up calls at work from this number.
Vonage seems to always have foreigners answering their phones...they lie...they do not make promised account changes...and they continually try to talk you into additional lines, accounts, etc.
Unfortunately, they're the cheapest deal and the service works. - tiberianI see this number on my missed calls list on my vonage ( 7329072113) . I just signed up 1 week ago. I have never told anyone my vonage number , who could these people be ?
- kiloGot a call from this number twice today. The second time a 4 second message was left with nothing but a radio in the background.
- MomI received this call too, but when I called back, I received a male's voice saying, "Sorry I can't make it to your call, please leave a message and I will call you back". Never rang, went right to voicemail. Sounds early to mid 20's, with a slight hispanic tone. No background sounds at all.
- mkBeen a vonage customer for a few years. Just got a call from this number and answered it. It was a foreign guy telling me since I was a long time customer, they want to extend to me a special vonage offer, an extra line for 9.99 for 3 months, then it goes back up to 24.99. Told him that wasn't a good deal and declined.
I have worked in a place that made outbound calls, and they track the amount of calls you dial out. When they get tired of talking to people, they pad the numbers by dialing and hanging up. If they get a VM, some times they hang on the line to make the call look longer on the report. Sometimes they find a number that no one ever answers and put a star by that one because they know they can call it back several times and not talk to anyone. It sounds like that is the case here?
Since Vonage is denying involvement, this may be some out of country contract company for Vonage.
?- Caller: Vonage
- Call type: Telemarketer
- neilendsJust became a customer of vonage. Got this call on my cellphone today for the first time. Voicemail left: "This is a courtesy call from Vonage." Wanted to confirm I've gotten all my services ordered.
- Caller: Vonage
- annoyedHang up calls. Very annoying! The caller ID comes up as "unavailable" and it hangs up the moment it makes a connection. It must be a machine building a database of usable numbers, but its annoying nonetheless.
- carolina girlGot this call at 6:58 pm today.
No message, but someone said "Mike" which sounded like a voice mail ID.
In the background was talking, laughter and music.
The message was over FIVE minutes in length. Good grief! - KLR 650Got a call from this dude asking for Vonage account holder's name. They weren't here so they went away. Been V customer for a few years.
My guess, someone is stealing Vonage customer data (off the web?) and using it for their own nefarious purposes.
Another conspiracy theory: disgruntled or stupid Vonage employee (or contractor) just having fun.
I suggest Vonage get all over it or they'll end up looking stupid.- Call type: Telemarketer
- reach2starlight replies to KayMSame here i received a call twice from 732 907 2113 on my vonage phone..It was an American accent and when i called the number back it went to a voicemail that said I am not home please leave a message(??)
- R.I'm getting the same thing from this number
- LambSaw this on caller ID today, just one call thank goodness... looked it up online and now I see that many other people had problems too.... thanks for posting, guys.
- LambOops - I forgot to mention that it came up as 1-732-907-2113
- ToneDeFI am a Vonage customer. I just received a voicemail from "Outside Caller (17329072113)". An empty message was left in which I can faintly hear people talking in the background.
I think it is a telemarketing company (possibly working for Vonage). I believe the telemarketer may be employing the techniques described by MK above: "... When they get tired of talking to people, they pad the numbers by dialing and hanging up. If they get a VM, some times they hang on the line to make the call look longer on the report. Sometimes they find a number that no one ever answers and put a star by that one because they know they can call it back several times and not talk to anyone." - LostAngelesSurprised to see how long this thread is. Got a call from 732-907-2113 as well. Standard hang-up before I could barely say hello. Here's to hoping it doesn't happen again.
- NurzeChrisJust people talking in the background, how stupid...and annoying.
- Caller: Unknown
- swavThe caller from 732-907-2113 left an semi-intelligible message in Spanish and is obviously not a telemarketer. I speak Spanish, having lived years in Spain. The caller is a Latino, not a Spaniard, listening to the inflections had he used.
