After reading all the reports, I now understand where this annoying call is coming from.  Yes, I first got four or five calls from the supposed Yellow pages ad that they wanted to post for free.  I figured it for a scam right away, so every time they called I hung up on them.  It seems that their payback is calling from this number numerous times and no one is there.  If you call the number back and press the 1 if you do not want to receive further calls, it just seems to escalate the amount of calls you get.  One day I got 13 calls!!!  10 of them within one hour.  If you don't answer when you see the number come up, they seem to go down in frequency a bit, but it's been three weeks and I am still getting at least two a day.  Ours is a business number, so the no call list doesn't apply to us, though I did sign up our number anyway.  I called my local phone company and they won't do anything, other than block the number for $6 a month . . . and they can't tell me which phone company this number is originating from.  Annoying is an understatement.  If anyone finds a way to get these people, let me know.

I've gotten 5 calls this morning.  When I called back, I got a recording saying to press 1 to be removed from their list.  I pressed 1, and within 10 minutes, they called again.  I told them not to call me again and it was their final warning.  Within 5 minutes, they called back.  Someone needs to do something!!

been getting calls from this number all week. First saying they want to renew our free ad which I told them we never had a free ad and hung up.  They called again and just breathed into the phone. I hung up and dialed *69 and returned the call and got a machine that say's if you want to be taken off their list to press "1" which I did. Now lets see what happens

No one speaks when I answer.

Ok.this is a scam, the Yellow Pages do not call people around in order to renew an ad, they just mail an invoice in the U.S. mail.....do not give your credit card info. to this people..!!

yes, they do call back after you press 1, and they also call back (within 5 minutes!) if you ask to speak to a manager and have him put you on their do not call list...

and the next time they call and you ask to speak to the manager, you're told they are not able to transfer you to the manager in order to be placed on the do not call list...

Same exact situation as "Dina"- almost word for word.  Same guy, same lines, same everything!  The only difference was that he said he was from Embarq.  Don't give them any information.  In fact what we should give them is a taste of their own medicine.  Next time they call, I'm breaking out into song.  Hope they like show tunes.

OK, me too.  Just like everyone else.  So who do we report these people to?  How do we get them to stop?  They are harassing people, that has to be illegal.  What do we do?

THAT is what happened to me.  I thought they were legitimate at first and verified our company name and address and phone number.....and told them I wanted our yellow page listing CANCELLEd.  So they put us with a verification specialist to do that....and she wanted my name and title, THEN she wanted my date of birth.  At that point I said "why do you need that?"  She said just way 01-00. which I did.  (???) Then she wanted me to answer some questions "the machine" would ask and at the end, I was to press the #9 and it would take care of cancelling my yellow page listing and the special web site (which I never understood).  
I said I was uncomfortable with all this and I was going to just call CenturyLink to see what all they needed from me and I hung up.  I called them and put the THIRD PARTY BLOCK on my account immediately.  So that you SARITA for the suggestion to do that!!!!

The Indian guy called me, gave me the talk about being from our local yellow pages, funny his caller id rang up from a California Wireless number and I'm located in Washington state. Asked him not to call again, he continued to call all day so I answered again, same guy this time his name was Frank (last time it was Paul) I threatened to call an attorney if he didn't stop calling because I had already asked him once to stop. He hung up. Hopefully I won't be hearing from him again.

I have gotten three calls from this number in the past two hours.  I told them I was on the Do Not Call list and the guy said it did not matter!

I get calls from "out of area" 760-526-8572 and "toll free" 877-408-3392 multiple times an hour.  It's very annoying!!  We've stopped answering the phone when these numbers come up on our Caller ID.  One of these days I'm going to get so tired of it that I'm going to answer and give them a bunch of false information just to screw with them - just like they're screwing with everyone else!

Multiple calls from this number today. All in the past 2 hours. Most of the time no one is there. Once as I was about to hang up heard a mans voice. The most recent time they called I stayed on the line to talk to them because it's getting really annoying and is a waste of my time, but even when I waited no one was there. Finally I hung up.

This number is ringing me several times a day.  No one is ever there.  It must be a scam.  So, I just push the speaker phone button to answer and then push it again right away to hang up when that number calls.

Called 5 times in less than 1 hr.  Cid says No4 or unknown.  I don't answere 800's unknown, or blocked calls, this is a business and if someone is legitimate they won't block their number or they will leave a msg.  So far no messages. This just started and I hope they will get tired of no one answering.
