That's exactly right! I blocked my ex boyfriends cell number and he is trying to call me right now through his gmail and it's this number too. So it's definitely someone you know.

Great Scott! I warned you about certain operating systems and early 21st century fascism. Snowden, NSA, Putin, Obama, Shadow Government...don't trust any device you cannot "root". Well, hunker down for WWIII and quit playing with the timeline.

Received a call from a young woman who said she was my granddaughter.  I did not recognize her voice.  She said she was in trouble and needed money.  Told her I didn't have $1500 and that she should call her brother.  She asked for his number because she didn't have her cell phone.  She also called me on a phone number that no one in my family has.

My mother received a phone call this morning stating it was from her grandson who was arrested in Mexico and needed 1200.00 for bail??  She only spoke to her grandson for less than a minute, then a police officer got on the line. They located a western union 60 miles away and asked me to wire the money.....  I totally believed it.  They are suppose to call me back in the morning and give me more info.  My daughter called western union 800 448 1492 and they were wonderful..
    Do not send money,,,,,,

A Call came in, I had been waiting for a call from my grandson, and so i was duped for a few seconds into the call. Poor connection, and noisey background (like a downtown area, or airport) I was greeted by 'Grandma' , I have a problem, you know me I went with some friends to Mexico, and unbeknownest to me ...somehow  ...someone put drugs in my bag and I am now in trouble with the authorities in Mexico, my arrainement isn't for 6-8 weeks, and I don't know what to do or how I am going to stay here or go back and find the money to do so..( waviery voice....teary voice starts) I went to the US Consulate here and they won't or can't help me.....I ..sob...don't know what to do. do you think you can ...(I fained a bad connection, hung up, blocked this number, and looked up this Maura Collins. oh yeah, my " grandson" said he was calling from a lousy payphone in Mexico, so , no, I couldn't call him back) I noticed this persons name on my ID , so did the research, and found this site to report this fraud.  BTW...All my grandsons live in Canada, and have no need to go to the USA Consulate should they ever be so stupid to involve themselves in the border crossing drug trade..An experience .  Miss Abbey, Florida USA

Face book affords as much information to the public and a priests' confessional on good friday.....you can pluck any name from any site ' Classmates' is one popular one, find a name, go to social media...and enter a 'friends' request and find out what this person had for breakfast or his or hers next high school reunion date. Don't be fooled. There are way too many empty headed bad guys out there who love to dupe honest folks into parting with their money. They are not smart, they are just evil enough to find some flattering, or familiar info on you and your family to make themselves believeable. Do your home work

So after reading a few dozen of these I think mine might be the most disturbing.  Directv: The lady, fairly normal accent calls from "Directv" to verify my installation.  She gives me my name, my address, my phone # and asks if it's all correct.  She then proceeds to tell me due to fraudulent orders she needs to verify my SS# and my CC# used to place the order.  I tell her hell no.  I don't feel comfortable giving that information over the phone.  She says I just need to verify the last four of your SS#.  I still say no.  She says I understand the sensitivity of the information I'm asking for, but I assure you, it is required to verify your account.  I said sorry, not going to happen, cancel my order.  She says sir, I assure you this is legitimate.  Please just finish this with me...she then proceeds to correctly read off the first 6 numbers of my social, and asks me to finish by verifying the last 4....at this point it seemed legitimate to me, as usually the first 6 are all ******1234 format.  So (STUPID) I comply.  As I had just placed my order and scheduled install, and she had all the correct info, including my social and credit card info.  Then she asks me to verify my WHOLE credit card #.  I say I'll give you the last 4 digits and the exp, I've done all this already with the rep at costco.  She goes over the package info, down to the notes from my order of which room it would be in and that I needed a call 30 minutes out to have time "to put my dogs away".  ALL spot on from my directv order.  I still refuse to give her my CC# and tell her I'll just call directv back on my landline.  My cell then proceeds to light up with this # calling back about 10x in 2 minutes and I keep ignoring it.  Finally I answer "if this is how directv is you cancel my order NOW and never call me again, good day."  No more calls.  Get home, check my email, have an email from directv letting me know they updated my email address.  Someone changed my email address as well.  Obviously now I'm freaking out as they had and recited each and every piece of personal information I entered with my directv order.  Called Directv, they say they see my email change request but not who authorized it as I don't technically have an account to sign into until they do the install...WTF?!?  Security Issues Much?????
