- Michelle| 1 replyI receive calls from this number about once a month. I do participate in the program through my husband's employer and UHC. I have very complicated and very serious chronic health problems; I am hospitalized fairly frequently and I have an assigned nurse who keeps in touch with me and helps me navigate my disease management. I have nearly a dozen specialists even more meds and while I've managed on my own for more than twenty years, it's not getting any easier, and it is very helpful to have this nurse to help me figure out which specialist to go to with a new symptom, or help me find new doctors or other services when necessary. My nurse has informed me of benefits that I am entitled to that I did not know were even available to me. I understand completely how off-putting it is to receive an unsolicited call an to immediately be asked such personal questions. Ideally, this service would be more clearly announced and identified, but I can tell you from my own experience THIS SERVICE IS COMPLETELY LEGIT and rather helpful. I do recommend trusting them and trying out the service- you're already paying for it (through your insurance premiums).

- MattThis is a legit number for United Healthcare. If you're concerned about privacy, you can simply ask the person for their direct number and call them back. They have a specialty management program for some of their medications, so they will ask for your health history and other medications that you're taking. It's an optional service, so you're not obligated to participate and they are fine with this.

- Perry in HoustonOn 10-8-2010 @ 3:01 pm and 3:03pm I did receive call from this number after I called a company by the name of Evercare earlier today in response to a letter that had been mailed out to me dated 9-29-2010
in which a woman by the name of Adrana Mandala who is supposed to be a service coordinator associate for Evercare Texas LLC.I am on the Texas and National No Call list and have never given my number to United Health Care.I will be filing with the Texas and National No Call List against this company. - Tiger replies to MichelleDid not leave voicemail. Margaret Thank you for your posting and alert
- PatI never answer numbers that have strange area codes. And I wish they would stop calling me if this is some type of telemarketing call. If they don't have the courtesy to leave a message, then they can just quit calling!
This is the recording that I got when I called the number back. (They did not leave a message.)
"You have reached a non-working number at UnitedHealth Group. Please hang up and dial the number on the back of your card."- Caller: UnitedHealth Group
- MizMoThey called me, I wasn't home, they didn't leave a message. All usual. The thing is, I don't have UHC, so I have no idea why they would be calling me. I am anticipating a surgery in the near future, but it hasn't been scheduled yet, and as I said, I DON'T HAVE UHC!!
I've also received calls in the past (tho maybe not from this number) offering me assistance with chronic health problems. Here's the thing: my chronic problems are nothing I can avoid, and they can't help me do anything about it. What concerns me is, if I have to change insurance companies, what is going to come back and bite me as a "pre-existing condition"? I'd rather NOT give my history to anyone who can put it into a permanent record that might keep me from getting help in the future.- Caller: UHC
- AndreaI have received several calls from this number at different stages in my pregnancy. It is a registered nurse with United Health Care assigned to me as part of my healthcare benefits. In the event that I'm not able to answer, she's always left a voicemail with her direct telephone number for contact. It is always the same nurse who simply checks in with me regarding my regular prenatal appointments and to answer any questions I may have regarding my pregnancy, labor and delivery, etc and to provide me with additional resources or tools that I may need in the meantime.

- Dan| 1 replyCaller Id was (763) 274-3899 "United Healthca" the call back number left on my answering machine was 888-866-8295 "Joann". The wanted my name and Date of Birth (DOB) , sounds like a scam, they can steal your identity with a name and DOB by cross reference to other data bases using name date of birth and phone number (it's easy to do, I'm a computer programmer), they can open bank accounts take out loans and open charge accounts. NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO A PERSON MAKING A "COLD CALL"! I do have United Health Care insurance but I could not verify either number as belonging to United Health Care, "United Healthca" must stand for "United Health Carpetbaggers". (763) 274-3899 is an unlisted number and 888-866-8295 is listed in a few websites (probably all bogus). I never knew RNs worked in boiler rooms. lol

- DanIt's a big con game, they are even posting here saying it's legit.
- Caller: UHC
- DanIf they were legit the company name would come up on a reverse lookup using the phone number.
- Caller: united healthca
- DanIf your credit score is low they probably toss the info. because they can't us it to open an account or get a loan in your name.
- Caller: United Healthca
- DanRemember that episode on Law and Order where the old man lost his house and tracked down the person who scammed him and got even. DON'T mess with old people, we don't get mad we get even!

- Cheryl| 3 repliesIt is sad that we have all had to become so paranoid, this is a service that the employer offers to help those of us who have difficult health issues. If you do not want any help just tell them and they will leave you alone but stop trying to make everyone think they are stealing their identity. No I do not work for United Health Care I am just someone who benefits from their services.
- Caller: United Health Care
- United Health SCAM replies to CherylInsurance companies are collecting this information for the SOLE BENEFIT of ... guess who??? THE INSURANCE COMPANIES.
This information can be used to deny coverage currently or in the future, to raise premiums, and can make it much more difficult to get another insurance policy because all the information collected is shared with ... guess who??? THE OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES.
RUN --- do not walk --- away from this invasion of privacy and attack on your health and well-being!
This can cost you far more in the long run than stealing your identity, when you are denied coverage or priced out of insurance, this can cause your DEATH. Get a clue Cheryl before you start spouting off about something you obviously know little or nothing about! - anonymous replies to CherylWhat you say is true for countries with universal health care where citizens cannot be denied care and these services are used to minimize cost to the health system. However, in countries with insured health care like the USA, patient data gathered by these helpful services can and will be used by insurers to raise premiums, deny claims, etc. If you haven't seen Michael Moore's movie "Sicko," please do. Your library may have the DVD.
