I can't think of any phone number (including Unknown, etc.) that a scammer could use that would scream SCAMMER ! any louder than 800-000-000 .... These guys aren't brain surgeons - they're patients ...

Infuriates me when I am told I can "press 2" to request not receive these calls anymore, and then, oops, you've pressed an incorrect key.  Then after pressing "1" to literally tell them I want to be removed, they HANG UP ON ME!

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I hate it when people lie to me... particularly from a sales perspective. I was in the sales game for over 35 years and it is quite obvious that sales has taken a lower level with people like this.
With today's technology of hiding the actual phone number from whence they are calling from - and the ability to generate calls using VOIP and prerecorded messages.... and the scum that finds out how to use it... yada yada yada yada

I WISH they would just come out and say...
"I am calling you based on a scam developed by my boss, that sociopath sitting across the room from me, and he would like to clean out your bank account.
He is paying me minimum wage less 5% for every sucker I can get vital information from - and my kids need formula and diapers. Please help me"

After all, they must know that people are on to them - but I guess it's that small percentage of naive people who have not caught up to them that they are hoping to land as the "BIG FISH" - the WHALE

And where is the frigging government... or have they tendered that out to a private security firm to find the answer to stop these calls ?????

    Received a call Aug 14/14 at 5:41 p.m.
    Caller ID :  1-800-000-0000
    Caller Unknown

With a number like the one above you know it has to be a Scam of some sort.
The person who called was a woman.  She left a message on the answering machine.  She gave her name as
"Heather".  The call was one of those annoying "Credit Interest" Scams.  You know the ones.
It starts off by them saying don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your Credit Card, but --- and then they go into the
speech about how you can lower your Interest Rate by talking to one of their  Reps."
We have had calls same as this many times, using the same name only each time they use a different phone number.
On rare occasions it is a man's voice but that is likely the person who is behind the "ladies" who are doing the scam.

Of course this type can't be traced.  But I recall the last time one came in it was from a person using the Area Code
604 which relates to a place in Vancouver, BC.
I found this out by going to the White Pages, Reverse Lookup.  While it did not give a person's name or address
it did give the general location and the fact that it was a Landline.
Check it out the next time you get one of these calls.

I just got a call from this number and I answered and there was silence, as soon as I pressed answer, I got a call waiting from the same number. I pressed answer again and the same thing happened. So I hung up. As soon as I did I got two voice mails, each 21 seconds long and just a long, quiet beep. It was weird. Hope it was a one time thing...

I got a call from this # today also. I use reverse call look up and this is the info it gave me:
    Tara Hillburn
    11302 Preston Hwy #STE 2
    Louisville, KY 40229-2862
    8000000000
I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize (or expect). After I look them up
and Google the results, I can block the number

Received 2 calls within 20 minutes from 800-000-0000 and no voice mail message was left. I do not answer the phone when I do not recognize a number - especially one that looked as funky as this one did. This number has been blocked.

I got a call from the 1-800-000-0000 twice today from lower your credit card. The first time I ignored the call. Second time got annoyed and answered the call I waited for rep to answer "Richard" picked up and I asked him to put me on your do not call list and he hung up. I would love to grill this person.

Got a call from this number - clearly spoofed - there ARE no total '0' numbers.  They did not leave a voicemail, so I nicely called them back.  Message advised me that either the code or the number I had dialed was incorrect.  Wish they would take these kinds of people and lock them up for good - in a small cell with a non-working phone!  HAH!

I keep getting these too - last time I picked up and said 'RCMP what is your emergency' - they hung up pretty quick - and didn't get a call back (yet) - what are they going to do - report me?  Like scammers/scumbags are going to do that.
