- MOM replies to CarolDid you get a response from your AG or the FTC yet on these people. Ridiculous it IS ILLEGAL-
- furiousThese same people have called my ex husband's cell phone, my daughter's mother-in-laws home phone, and my son's ex wifes mother saying that my social security number is involved in something that they are not sure I even know about and that there is a hearing coming up about it. I owed a bill to Lowe's and thought I had paid it all but missed 56.oo dollars. That is what they are calling all my aquaintances for? How can they do this? I am glad to hear that I have recourse if they do not stop. I wrote a letter to them and I will go to a lawyer if I have to. This is ridiculous.

- JM-PDXI received a VM that left this number to call at ext. 63862. The message said "This call is for Mr. XXXX X XXXXX or his attorney. It is very important you call us about your case number XXXXXXXX" I called back to see what it was about, but there was a VM saying that all operators were busy - please leave a message and refer to your case number. They are looking for my ex husband, whom I divorced many years ago! Given that he hasn't worked the past few years, it's no wonder thugs are looking for him. However, I sure don't need them calling me!

- Kathy SmithA woman named Ella at ext. 63712 called my husbands's mother, who lives in Alabama looking for him. (We live in Georgia.) She gave a reference number and said it had something to do with his social security number. I tried calling the number she left (800-210-0836) expecting to get the social security office, but got no answer. Also, several weeks ago someone contacted my ex-mother-in-law looking for my husband, saying they were with the I.R.S. He does not owe the I.R.S. Looking back, it was probably the same office. In addition, United Bureau has called our home several times, leaving a message for my husband, with out-of-area on the calller ID.

- AliciaThis outfit called my husbands parents and then my neighbors across the street to deliver a message to me to contact them. When I called this rude Gentleman supposedly named Jay Newman got very nasty asking about my brother. They would not give any information about this so called case file and told me I should pay his debts. This is a pretty gutsy move to call my neighbors and then call me rude names on the phone. I asked to speak to a supervisor and another man got on and said he would take care of it.

- will not be harrasedA Mr Chris Bail called about my ex sister in law. When I tried explaining he knew everything about me!! He was rude and threating and represented himself as an atty for United Bureau Law firm, a lie,he was trying to comvince me of. I found the office number and called his boss. I hope this will stop Mr Bail. If not a law-suit will. My caller ID showed unknown number,Mr Bail gave me the 800-210-0836 number.

- AnneI received call from a Mr. Daniel Vann asking me to contact a neighbor about a court case. Having done skip tracing for several years, I was able to guess what the call was about and gave him little or no information. While the caller was extremely nice, polite and professional, I do not like getting calls asking me to put a note on a neighbor's door. While on the phone he gave two different phone numbers........I just went ahead and agreed with both, knowing neither one was correct. He said that he would not bother me again..........and I would hope that he wouldn't.

- Anthony Rizzo replies to EarlMr. Newman, Tina Gibson and Michael Jones are three of the main culprits at this debt collecting company. The lowest form of humans are debt collectors. They have no idea why people stop paying off debt. I've become disabled and my career has been terminated. UCB calls my neighbors, my family and loved ones and claim falsehoods about me. I am taking LEGAL ACTION and claiming monetary damages against all 3 of these minimum wage imbeciles, and will continue to go at their personal liabilities as well.

COLUMBUS-OH - TruBlueThese idiots have been calling one of my cell phone number repeatedly and leaving a message without telling me what their business with me is about. I don't owe any debt (always pay everything with cash except for my mortgage and I have direct debit for that!). I have a feeling they are trying to use me to get to one of my neighbor which makes it even more aggravating. I got their address from this website and am about to send them a certified letter to cease and desist. If they don't stop, I will file a complaint with the FTC and claim the $1,000 damage since my number is on the "Do not call" list.

- Drew"Linda" called and asked my mom to help deliver a message to a neighbor we don't even know! Shouldn't something like this be illegal? If not, it sure is rotten to tell ones' neighbors that they are delinquent in a bill or not paying one on purpose, etc. I definitely will NOT help these jerks out!

- variacI have been dissabled and out of work for a year and am filing for bankruptcy. These scumbags some how located and contacted my ex-wife and harrased her. - FORMER DEBT COLLECTOR replies to Jim O'Connell| 2 repliesFile a complaint with VA. Banking Authority. All debt collection companies are regulated by the State Banking Authority. Then read the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) section 800 to section 820. All of your rights are listed there. All the rules the collectors must follow are there. If they violate any of them you can have the SBA go after them, fine them, or even shut them down if they have a history of prior violations.

- AtaraxiaI got a call around 3:30 today, said they were looking for a ***** at first the name didn't ring anything, then they asked for the last name which I know. They said it was an important message and that they needed it immediately sent to *****. I'm not going to do anything at all. I read most of these comments and they sound fake. I got the call from a Miss King at 1-800-210-0836. Ext. 63623. no case number or anything. I've already prepared a speech if they call back. Though I gave away information that I am related this person, bad Idea? And i also gave a fake name. Any feedback for this particular situation much appreciated.

- South FloridaI just got a call from these people this morning, but it wasn't the 800 number it was a local number (954-236-6000)This lady Patricia called and asked to speak to my aunt's husband (she asked for him by name) I told them that he is my uncle but you are calling MY personal cell phone. So she asked if I could take a message and I did. She said please have him call 1-800-210-0836 extn: 63776. When I asked what it was regarding she just said a personal matter. I then asked her how she got my cell phone number and she said it was in his records listed as a reference. Umm ok... I doubt that. So I called this 800 number back once I hung up with her and some guy answered saying UCB I told him i had the wrong number and hung up. This is very strange. I will inform my uncle of the call I got for him but I will make sure I tell him NOT to give out any of his personal info to these people.

- tigerjohnThese despicable bottom feeders can't get jobs anywhere else so they hire on with sludge-dredgers like this to harass Americans damaged by this economy. Sure there are deadbeats out there, but most folks who CAN'T pay their bills are simply suffering from a medical issue, a loss of of a job or a failed business due to a corrupt and incompetent Congress. These low-lifes are the cum of the earth.
BUT!!! Good news!! Fight Back!! Keep calling their 800 number (1-800 210 0836) and have all your friends do the same... tie up their phones as long as you want... I have done this with other collection companies and IT WORKS!! They actually STOP calling... sometimes they threaten you with legal action if you persist... Can you just see it? A Collection company complaining to a judge about harassing calls? Maybe we can get the judge to stop laughing long enough to render a verdict!! HA!
